Eagles will win championship this year

He might not be the best QB right now, but if you had to pick one player to build a franchise around going forward, he would easily be the first guy picked.

I will have to go along with this as well he has the precision and accuracy of Brady and the mobility second only to Mike Vick. He just has not done it as long as Brady, Manning, and Brees. My only concern is that he needs to stay healthy the concussions are worrisome.

Some truth to that, but the new helmet he wore after they lost to the Lions last year seemed to mitigate that for him somewhat. Rodgers still hasn't learned to get hit in the way that Favre did over the years, or that Manning does now.

Not unanimously.
I'm not a Rodgers hater; I'm just stating my position that he is NOT the "best QB in the league" today. Shada likes him, you like him, Norm likes him, great. That doesn't make him the best.

I'm not disagreeing that he might not be the best QB right at this moment, but factoring in age I think it would be between him and Phillip Rivers if you had to pick a QB for the future. Manning, Brees and Brady are all great too, but they are also all on the downside of their careers.

It will be interesting to see if whomever follows Brady in New England is able to do it the same way Rodgers followed Favre.

Brady is 32 and has already stated he wants to play as long as he possibly can which means he will probably play at least another 6 or 7 years. You know if you even sneeze on Brady you will be flagged and/or fined.

Roethlisberger is only 29, granted many people think he is overrated, but given his age and the organization he plays for he probably has a couple more Super Bowl runs in him.

Manning has a Super Bowl run or two left in him as well.

They are all great QBs but give AR the respect he earned by winning the SB last year. Winning is more important than stats this ain't baseball. Did Texas Tech have the best QB a few years back? No even though he had the best stats.

Considering age and everything, name 5 QB's you'd pick to start a franchise with right now.

1. You unequivocally said Rodgers is the best, you didn't ask anyone to pick a QB and build an offense around him.

B. Since you want to play what-if relative to building an offensive unit, I give you...Matty Ice; Sam Bradford; Phillip Rivers (yeah, I think he's a tool, but he's got mad skills); Matt Schaub; Drew Brees & Roethlisgoober (on the old side, but both still have good years remaining).

Again, not a Rodgers-hater, not even close. Dude is talented and has a ring.
In my opinion he's not "the best".
"The best" active QBs, regardless of age, are Brady, Manning, Brees, Roethlisgoober, and Tebow.
 :p :D

I'm a Vikings fan and even I have to agree with Shada on this one. I can see arguing Brady, Manning or Brees but throwing in some of the guys you did there is crazy talk.

No Jay Cutler? Sorry, could not resist. :D

Anyone who thinks "Matty Ice" is better than Aaron Rodgers should not be talking football.

I'm a Patriots and Panthers fan, Woodrow! :)

But I'm NOT a Claussen supporter whatsoever, and until Cam Newton actually steps on the field and performs, I couldn't care less about him, either. It's hype city down here, for Newton. I've already had my fill of the kid. :(

“Right now, we’ve got a lot of good looking guys standing around watching. Obviously, dreams aren’t reality, so the reality will come when I get my hands on them and we get them into practice and start grinding here like the other guys are grinding. That’s reality.â€￾

Philadelphia Eagles head coach, discussing the Eagles’ heralded “Dream Teamâ€￾
