From article:

"It's never good when you see a fellow teammate or a friend or a brother go down like that," McNutt said. "You always want to have competition and you never want to see competition go away like that.

"But I definitely feel like I get an opportunity to show what I want to show to the coaches more. And with that just comes a lot of learning and being up on top of your game at every point."

Instead of going outside for a big veteran wide receiver such as Plaxico Burress, Reid said he wants to see what his young guys can do, starting with McNutt (6-3, 216), who physically is almost a clone of Cooper (6-3, 222). After playing alarmingly slow in Organized Team Activities, McNutt has turned it up a notch as he's gotten more familiar with the offense.

"He's a big kid, too," Reid said. "He's not going to look like DeSean coming off (the ball). He's a bigger body but he's very physical to the ball. When you put the pads on, that's his game; where you can have the physical part of it in there."

Me too. #7 Marvin McNutt Jr will always be one of my Top Ten favorite Hawkeyes, and I've been accumulating fave Hawkeyes for ~30 years.
Terrific young man, terrific athlete, terrific Hawkeye.

Very nice. It's nice to see a Hawk catch a good break. I think he can be their 3rd receiver when it's all said and done.

He will likely now be the 4th option. The Eagles still have Jackson, Maclin and Avant would be #3 right now.

McNutt = All Heart.

Love that dude.

"Alarmingly slow" is, itself, a bit alarming. Hopefully he has turned it up more than "a notch".

Seriously, how hard is it to put an actual valid link in there that 95% of the board can actually, you know, read?

I stand by my post. Morons.

I'm not on a mobile device, and I can read the link. Stop your whining, ******.

Philadelphia Eagles' Marvin McNutt might be able to make fast work of opportunity at wide receiver | lehighvalleylive.com

Came across this also. From article:

As Reid noted, "McNutt would probably be the one (of the wideouts in camp) that’s most like (Cooper),â€￾ and Reid said he wasn't likely to bring in more competition.

“I’m going to just leave it the way it is," Reid said. "We’re going to leave it and let the young guys get some work in and see what they can do."

McNutt's already shown well and he starts ahead of the others -- as a draft pick battling with free agents such as Damaris Johnson, McNutt will get every chance and more. And the timing of McNutt's chance couldn't be better.

Reid, who said it was "too early" to say who has impressed him, admitted McNutt has.

"I thought he did well (Saturday)," Reid said. "He had a good day and that was good to see. He’s a big, physical kid. You saw that. You saw him attack the football and he made some big plays. You saw him on a quick screen make some people miss and make a big play there. He's a big kid too. He's not going to look like DeSean (Jackson) coming off (the line). So, he's a bigger body but he’s very physical to the ball. When you put the pads on, that's his game where you can have the physical of it in there."
