I checked out a couple of forums and they've suggested a downloadable patch to fix the conference issues. If there is no such patch or fix I can't see buying a game that will have incorrect conferences.

It won't be the game originally, they'll send a patch if you get online. This post is pretty funny, cause I was just thinking about this. Game doesn't come out till mid July, everyone will have to declared where they are going by July 1, so if a ton of teams are going to be in different conferences, they'll have no choice, but send out an online patch.
