I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that the 2014 Iowa Hawkeyes don't resemble those teams in the late 80's. :rolleyes:Especially the late 80's :rolleyes:that you referenced in a previous post. That is what I take exception with those comments, it is the pure ridiculousness to which you post on this site that makes me think your Trolling. The late 80's team wouldn't be a 10 point dog tonight.
 
This team could easily win more games than either of those teams. I'm not saying that those teams were bad though. Jepson, Marble, Armstrong, Horton, Bullard those were some great players!
 
I am referring more to the feel of the game rather than the individual players anyways. This game just feels big time like some of those old games did.

Had we not laid n egg in NY against Texas and Syracuse than maybe I could agree with you.. Issue is with those teams in the late 80's they had the talent that you knew they could over come the losses and would still be fine, I don't get that same warm fuzzy that will be fine feel with the 2014 Iowa team, 2014 Iowa is IMO much more handicapped in certain Key Areas.
 
Great so we'll get to hear Dickie V say how Marcus P. broke all the hearts of the people in Iowa. He'll rub our noses init a little more.

It's tough losing both those games. Not too much shame in the lost to Texas, they'll be playing Kentucky Friday to really measure how talented they are. Iowa does have some glaring weaknesses, but there's a lot of talent in the post positions. After losing the first two vs. meaningful teams, if Iowa can somehow go 3-0 against quality opponents in December (UNC,ISU,UNI) they'll be right back in talks of being a top 30 team. Not going to be easy, but hey theres a shot of it happening. I'd say odds of it happening like.. 30%.
