Most of them also think it's more of a mentality issue than it is talent. They think they have top tier talent. They definitely think they have NCAA tourney type talent which is debatable at this point. I would argue most of them think they have more talent than most of the teams in the B12 outside of KU and maybe Baylor, but I would absolutely disagree with that.
They don't have any options in the paint. None. That's a glaring issue and it keeps getting exposed. I said it last year and I keep saying it. Losing McKay and Niang was huge. Cyclone fans want to downplay it. They've been trying to downplay it since last season. It's really not that difficult though. Just look at the way they play. They are so much easier to beat when they are one dimensional. If a team can rebound and do their best to defend the perimeter then they can beat ISU. They have zero answers inside.
Yeah, they clearly aren't anywhere near as talented as last year. They have replaced Niang and McKay with nobody really. Also people forget how solid Nader was.
Clown fans thought they could just tap into Transfer U, but forget this is Prohm, not Hoiberg. Prohm is like Fran, he would prefer to build from the ground up with Fr. He couldn't get an impact big man to replace Niang/McKay/Nader and you are correct they are getting exposed there.
