Anyone see him at halftime of the play-in game? He speculated about the Iowa job and said that Brian Gregory, Fran McCaffery, and Tony Barbee all might be contacted. He noted Iowa was a good job but their facilities are not in order. I guess he doesn't know about the Carver renovation or the practice facility that will be built. Hence, he threw out 2 bad names (Gregory and McCaffrey) IMO. If either of those two are fired then Iowa is in trouble. Barbee is a good option but def not your 1, 2, or 3.

On a side note, he threw Alford's name out there with the Oregon job along with Mark Few. :)

No one knows much yet. It's all speculation.

Tubby will take the Oregon job and leave it to Ben Jacobson.

Gregory is not a bad name at all. He's in my Top 5.

Gregory is alright...and I haven't had the pleasure of naming a son yet...but I just don't think Gregory carries the same clout as something like Mufasa.

Say it...Mufasa. Mufasa...Mufasa...Mufasa.

Now that's a great name!

Geez spank you better look at his conference record.

2 NCAA bids in seven years isn't good. Lick had a better resume. Plus his team was stacked this season and went 8-8 in conference. I think you keep Lick over Gregory.

Just 1 losing season, almost 20 wins seasons every year, asst coach under both Heathcote and Izzo. Done more at Dayton than any other coach has before. Team plays solid D and decent tempo.

He has asst coach experience, head coach experience, and knowledge of the game is superb.

I would take him well before Keno.

Stormin,

In the past 5 years, Gregory has 3 7th place finishes, an 11th and a 2nd. Alford was better than that and he got ran. If we hire Gregory, it is a mistake.

I admit I was more enamored with Gregory at midseason, before Dayton did a nosedive out of the tourny. I do not think he would lite a fire under the fanbase, but better than Lick....but I like Barbee,Forbes and Gillispie's recruiting chops better.
