I made that mistake last Friday. I asked him to allow us to beat Gonzaga so that we could then beat the UCLA Alfrauds. I promised him I would return to church, etc. Let me tell you how that worked out for me.
Sunday morning, about 1 am, my wife's grandmother went into hospice. That's when the phone calls started. About 8:30 am, she passed away. Me and my wife sat in the hospice room for the better part of the day, waiting on family members visiting and paying their last respects. Oh yeah, did I mention Sunday was also my birthday?
In short: I spent my birthday with a corpse, in a hospice room, on zero sleep, while my phone blew up by well wishers for my birthday. Then I got to watch Iowa lose.
