Don't dismiss the NCAA Tournament talk...

I like the the fact that there are people noticing that Iowa more than passes the eye test and playing in the B1G may have some of them giving Iowa the benefit of the doubt, but I can't get my hopes up for Sunday. I can only take one nut punch per weekend.

Is Fran drunk too?

"I think it's clear with what we have done that we should be in the NCAA Tournament," said McCaffery. "I respect the job the committee has, I know it's difficult, and there are a lot of other folks that feel the same way, but when you look at all the numbers, they bare out that we should be in.

"I don't think you want to lock into one particular number, you want to look at all of them, and if you do that, you see where we stack up."

Fran might have a slight bias when assessing our tourney chances

And Beat Mich State...if we can beat Sparty I agree we have a good chance

Why do you Cliche and others come here to just flame?

I just can't see it. Too much negative talk out there, heck everyone has been badmouthing Iowa all season long why stop now.

We aren't making the NCAA tournament. When we get invited to the NIT I hope we win the whole thing to show all non-Iowa fans that we definitely had the talent to play in the NCAA tournament. We'll have at least 3 home games in the NIT as long as we win. I plan to be in Carver for all of them.

Well yeah, obviously he is biased towards his own team. No shocker there. But he does make a pretty valid point:

Fran obviously is referring to the RPI with the part I put in bold. That is the one number that doesn't look real good in our case. But the rest of our rankings are much better. I do have to say, throw the RPI out of the mix and it becomes much more difficult to tell Iowa apart from a number of other teams. It seems stupid to me that anyone look ONLY at a team's RPI. As we've seen, it's pretty flawed.

I'm not necessarily saying Iowa should be in or not, but to disqualify a team solely based on RPI seems pretty short-sighted if you ask me. If RPI is the only thing you know about a team, then IMO you shouldn't be on the committee deciding who deserves who to be in, and who doesn't.
