Dondre Alexander will play basketball in college.

dondre is an eric may type with more ability in both (i believe). he could play either even though his best upside is football. he is a better bb player than may and at least has played at the position in fb that he would play which gives him a leg up on may. either way (fb or bb) i think he is a guy iowa needs. right now i would take him over morgan for bb and i think he is better than some of our wrs too.

Ive only seen them once in the state title game but Morgan looked like a much better prospect.

Hes not quite as athletic but has much better coordination with the ball and has a good jump shot. Alexander reminds me of another Eric May, he should play football if hes smart.

I agree ,he should play football. But read an article that said he loves BB and that is his passion. If he wants to play professionally he should choose FB. Tyler Sash felt the same coming out of HS,but he wasn't getting the Div I attention Dondre is in BB.

morgan projects better than alexander in basketball. but right now alexander is better. i see morgan as a devyn marble type. i see alexander as a type that could develop into the defense of gatens and the slashing athleticism that we thought may had but doesnt seem to. i like morgan better for bball but i think alexander may end up fitting the team better need wise as we are looking at other players similar to morgan. i would take them as a pair but if i have to pick i say go with alexander and get one of the other 3-types we are looking at.

I just don't see Alexanders skill set as being that of a high major player for bball, you can't be a guard and be a poor ball handler, hes perfect for BCS football though.

he is a better ball handler than eric may. and i see the skill set that he can develop as a ball handler...which i didnt see with may.

i just believe he will fit in better with the talent collection we are getting in bball than morgan as i believe him to be more of an attacker than morgan and i think he would play before ingram right now. his size and athleticism give great upside as a defender and the offense he has the ability to develop. we will see what happens this yr and who fran goes after. i have no problem with either guy.

Smart Kid!

nobody, and I mean NOBODY, in their right brain should pick football if they could get paid/schollie in a different sport. Healthwise, businesswise, it's not even close.

I am probably one of the few people that will agree with this statement. Enless you have a good shot at going pro basketball is a much better option.

All things being equal, maybe.

His chances at going pro in football vs bball are far from equal in this case.

Im sure hes better at most things than May. But just because he is better than May, whos ball handling is so bad he should never of been offered a D1 scholy, doesn't make him a big ten caliber bball player.

I just don't see that particular skill as being able to be developed much at that late of an age if there isn't a solid foundation already there.

After watching that Im nearly positive Fran will not offer. Love to have him on the football team though.

Thinking hes better than Patrick Ingram is insane.

Not really a great leaper either, no where near May in terms of jumping ability.
