The NBA's all-time winningest coach will be graduating from the University of Iowa this weekend.
Former Hawkeye basketball player, NBA champion and NBA head coach Don Nelson will be a part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Commencement at the University of Iowa this Saturday. The commencement begins at 9 a.m. and Nelson will hold a 20-30 minute press conference at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The press conference will take place at the practice gym of the Howard Family Pavilion inside Carver Hawkeye Arena.
Nelson left Iowa in 1962 and was just 10 credits shy of earning a degree. Saturday, he will earn his degree in physical education obtaining the necessary credits over his lifetime. The University of Iowa determined that his 30 years of coaching counted toward his student teaching requirement.
