Does the HC fix his problem this week?

KF said he intended to play McCall last week and that McCall was ready, but in the long run it was a problem with the HC why McCall didn't get in the game.

Do you think that problem is fixed?

If so, when do you think we see him?
 
I think so, I think Kirk was more apprehensive about playing him because Coker was having a great day. Also, I liked to hear him say he needs just a little push. I think we see a steady dose of McCall after Coker has worn down that front 7.
 
I was kind of shocked that Kirk said that about himself. For this reason I think McCall gets in the game early this weekend.

Yeah I would like to see him early as well. We dont need to wait until the game is on the line.
 
If Situation calls for it, McCall or Canzeri or Johnson will play. However, I expect to see Coker stay in game if doing well,as he was against Michigan. If you have a "horse" who is being productive, you dont take him out just to get a freshman playing experience.

Then again, if McCall showing in practice like he did againt TTU, he could be in there early and Iowa will have two "horses".
 
McCall carries over/under is 1.5. I'll take the over.

I'm sure Kirk trusts Coker's blocking way more than McCall.
 
With the way Coker has been running lately I dont see any reason to take the ball out of his hands unless hes hurt or just exhausted. Its not like McCall has been playing this entire time. He had an upper hand on Coker in the pre season camp from what I heard because of Cokers injury.

Honestly I wouldnt be surprised if we dont see McCall the rest of the season but it could be just as likely that we will see him again. Although I have liked what Ive seen from DeAndre Johnson and Canzeri so far as well.
 
McCall will play in a designed sequence i would say. especially if we r up early. when would you have put him in last game? considering every dow and hit matter huge, mccall hasnt seen contact since early sept!
 
I think McCall will be in on either the 2nd or 3rd series. Kirk will stop looking for an ideal time to put him in (which is what I believe he did last week, but the ideal time never came) and plan for him to start a series early in the game.

Actually, there is. That's not a slam on Coker because he's played extremely well. You just can't work a guy that hard and expect him to produce at a high level every week.

Even Greene had Hampton to give him a rest every now and then.
 
nah, no problem. Coker is a tough kid, he's young, he's strong, he's capable. He has a Rogers. He'll be juuuuuust fine.

Also....McCall is faster. If he breaks one, he is more likely to outrun defenders to the end zone (which Coker has not been able to do this year).
