I woulda thought Thorson, but NW has a dumpster fire brewing in Evanston right now. They're probably going to be 2-4 heading into the Iowa game.
That Purdue guy has a ridiculous completion percentage right now. There's zero chance that stays up there.
Be careful....last year I would have said the same thing about NW. They lost to W Michigan and an FCS team before playing us and looked absolutely terrible on offense. Next thing you know, they put up 38 on us.
My post was about Nebraska.Right now, I'm not necessarily focused on how good or bad the defense is.
What I'm focusing on is the variety of formations and the variety of calls out of those formations, how much we are breaking from our historical tendencies out of both the called formations as well as down and distances. And I'm really liking what I'm seeing there.
That'll keep a guy like Fitz, who I swear knows our playbook better than the team does, from loading up on specific formations or down and distance tendencies.
At that point, it really will be pure execution. Which is why I've not particularly like it when KF has talked about "execution" in the past because I've felt that he's hamstrung our offense from being able to truly execute because of the tendencies he's refused to back away from....until this year so far anyway....

@Xerxes wondered out loud how Nebraska scored over 30 with their hyped-out new kid and I told him it's because they played 2 really horrible defenses so far.
Every single one of us on this board would shit our pants if we had to walk out on a B1G field with millions of people watching, let alone at age 20 and having to remember an entire D1 football offense cover to cover.Maybe. Regardless of the caliber of defense, I came away impressed with Stanley's composure in the first couple of weeks. Things started off terribly against Wyoming and he didn't let it snowball on him. Against Iowa State, he and the offense faced some adversity in the 2nd half. In multiple pressure situations on the road against a rival, he responded well. Those are encouraging things to see from the Hawkeyes young QB. With that said, the hire of Jeff Brohm at Purdue is a good one and I wouldn't be surprised to see Blough perform fairly well the rest of the way.
