Zero, it's over in IC...
Barta needs to go, but I'm guessing he is a good fundraiser, so as long as money is coming in the door, we are probably stuck with him too.Agree totally. And we all saw where the program was when Kirk took over, and how quickly he got it turned around. 1999, one win. 2002, Iowa ran the table and went to the Orange Bowl. Nuff said. Get the right guy in here and it wouldn't be an issue.
My real fear is the people who would be making the new hire. I expect we'd end up hiring some coach from the MAC that can't recruit, and the spiral would continue. That, IMO, is why a total house cleaning is needed, not just KF.
I heard people defending him on the radio this morning. They use the "look what happened to Michigan" argument. Fear of making a bad hire IS NOT a good reason to keep a current mediocre or below coach with a top 10 salary.

To make ethical decisions and be a great resource for the Hawk players, yes.
To turn the program from it's downward spiral direction, no. He has lost his mojo for sure. Time to hang it up and move on. It is too bad that he cannot see it so this could be so much less impactful on the program. Firing him and paying his contract out and keeping him and watching the death march both hurt us pretty bad. I hope someone who he looks up to and is a friend of the program steps in here and has a man to man with ole KF.
