I'm really confused about the forum today. We were supposed to crush Indiana, we did, and now everyone is even more skeptical than they were before. Bizarre.

If this defense can get healthy and the offense can keep clicking, we'll be fine. Look around our division. There isn't a single team that can say they are great on both sides of the ball.

Did you watch the first half? This has to be the worst defense I've seen at Iowa in the past 10 years.

Well I am not of the belief we have only had one average year but anyway it still seems like ever since Norm went up into the booth, that has had an impact to our defensive performance. Plus, and I am not sure of this because I don’t follow the recruiting very much but I believe that since his inability to be mobile and go out to recruit the best kids for our D that he will or is being passed up by other younger up and comers in the league. Norm just doesn’t have the name nationally to sit at home and think the kids will come flocking to Iowa. You have to win those battles in the kids living room.

We've had one year of being average and all of a sudden we'll never have a good defense again under norm?

During a close up of Donatel I noticed how small his arms looked and just how small he looked in general. So I took a look at the roster to see what the LB's were listed at. Donatel is listed at 205, Kirksey, 215, Morris 227, Nielsen 235, and Alston is 220. Those are some small LB's. They could all use another 10+ pounds of muscle on them to help prevent people from running through them.

For comparison, last year Tarp was listed at 238, Hunter 235, Nielsen 235, Johnson 235, and Morris 215.
