do you ever get tired of winning big games purely because of luck? i find it comical

blocking the UNI field goal TWO times in a row to win... (huge game)
wisconsin QB tripping on a hand off on the 1 yard line to win and the time running out
blocking the penn state punt and recovering it for a TD and getting a saftey early in the game lol
coming from behind to barely beat purdue with beathard
losing to IL at half and blowing them out because of some questionable turnovers and them giving up
3rd and 27 ohio states best dlinemen was flagged for head to head contact(complete joke), thrown out of the game, and turned the momentum of the game back to us

Dallas Cowboys would love a little dumb luck.
Back to their mediocre suckball.

I just never feel that great about our wins. Don’t get me wrong I will celebrate, jump up and down, and get drunk as hell, but it always feels like dumb luck. So at the end of the day I just laugh about it and feel bad for the other team

or what about the time Denard Robinson subbed in for Tate Forcier when we were playing them at home and we couldn't stop him.... he ran down the field for a couple scores and had a chance to win the game with plenty of time left... and instead he chucks it up high in the air to nobody and we intercept it lol....

so many memories with good ol iowa.... i need to move states

Every team from Nebby to OSU knows it.
It's just time to remind Wisconsin.
We are big brother.
The road to Indy goes through us.
The B10 underestimated. They gave Nebby the black Friday game. That's changing.
We decide who claims the west.

I find it comical when people call wins "lucky". Every game decided by 7 points or less comes down to 1 or 2 "lucky" or "unlucky" breaks according to them. It seems Iowa has a lot of self loathing fans who call Iowa's wins the "lucky" ones. I also find this comical.

This. I struggle to understand what wins aren’t “lucky” to this guy.

Any real Iowa fan knows it works both ways. Iowa wins and loses a lot of close games where one "fluke" play can make the difference.

It's Kirk Ferentz coaching style. Iowa has a style that minimizes the number of possessions each team gets per game. The offense grinds out the clock with the running game, and the defense plays a bend but don't break style.

The end result Iowa plays a lot of close games, and upsets better teams more than it should and loses to worse teams more than it should.

The weird part is how streaky it is. IOWA won 13 in a row at the end of 2008 and 2009, with many close victories, but had terrible "luck" in 2010, losing a bunch of close games. It evens out.
