The reasons and dislike for KF and JVB are beaten to death. Let's make this as objective as possible. Do you think the staff makes any significant changes to the O or to the gameplan to take advantage of the Cats. Specifically, do we actually start to throw the ball down the field as HawkeyeGameFilm suggests. (If you're on twitter, follow him, you'll learn something)

Anywho, vote not what you want to happen, but what you think will happen. Then we can come back to this later Saturday.

this might be worthy of another thread, but how do you think B Ferentz is taking this? the kid seems like the polar opposite of his dad. and seems like he has more leeway than anyone else to say stuff to Kirk that no one else would get away with. do you think he says to his dad "look, i know you like doing things the way you're comfortable, but we've got to make some changes to be successful."

when BF was with new england i wonder how much he took from that experience, or is he cut from the same cloth as his dad? doesn't seem like he's that way to me, but i'm just an outsider of the program.

Well we will have two different O linemen in haha... SSDW.

exactly. unless they turn into Reiff and Bulaga, that power running game will be hard to come by. jNW has two injured corners and has been burned by stellar QBs like T-Magic, so if we can't throw on them, we can't throw on anybody on the rest of the schedule.

I was considering sending Ferrets an email suggesting they practice nothing but deep routes all week.
Just in case nobody told him that they don't throw it deep very often........

Torn between "no" and "subtle but not noticeable". Then picked "no" because the biggest changes that need to be made are not to The Offensive, it's JVB's decision-making and execution. There have been opportunities to go downfield but his skittishness, lightning quick progression / last-resort progression, innacuracy and fear to take a shot are the main reasons for the passing-game's failure. Either he's traumatized or someone is in his ear to take the philosophically correct dump off option and hope for yac. In that regard, that part of The Offensive strategy, decision-making, coaching needs to change to target your playmakers.

Unfortunately there are 28 people with the wrong vote. The answer is yes, 100% yes. Iowa will be making changes for the game.

The poll is ridiculously pointing to conservative, predictable Capt Kirk ball, wow ! NW will rip us apart guys, the cheat sheets on Iowa conservative football have been studied all week by the NW defense. We have to mix it up at times like throwing on 2nd downs and not waiting for 3rd and long. Do we have enough players left on the line.

I think we'll involve the TE's like we should have been all along. May even see them downfield.

We're going to win this one, guys and gals.
