DMR: Iowa's Lack of Transparency Serves No One

While this is all true, he also addresses that.

Iowa, just like most schools, routinely releases information if it's positive (or at least not negative). Only when it could cause PR fallout do they clam up. Which is a natural response, but it's not right.

No kidding?! Why would anybody be surprised by this? Last time I checked they didn't release a "Barley Eligible All Big Ten team" you are aware of why not correct?

It's pretty common sense if you ask me.

All of these Gray stories seem to keep getting posted by JDM. Very, very few of them have appeared from other posters. What is your fervent interest in this story Jon? I have this feeling that you're holding something back for just the right time, but want to keep this in the forefront of thought.

Look at the traffic generated by the threads regarding this story. It's noteworthy and people are talking about it. It's good for business.

That's not what is being indicated by comments out of the AD late Friday evening, and follow up questions to the ICPD. These comments might or might not be true, but if true they are going to have a problem going forward, if they don't already, which I think they do.

You're clearly disgusted with the University of Iowa on many levels. Perhaps you should not renew your season football tickets, and take your substantial fanhood to another school/team. Like Coe, or Loras, or ISU, maybe. It would put your fevered mind at ease.

I didn't say I don't get it. And in many cases, it's perfectly reasonable not to releas certain info. But in this case, I think it's crap. Because as already mentioned, it seems like the actual investigation was already completed (hence resignation), and nothing was going to be said about it. Then word gets out as to why he left, and the investigation is ongoing, so they can't talk about it (stalling and hoping it just goes away).

Is that pretty much SOP for a lot of places? Sure. That doesn't make it right. People do have a right to know why a public institution rehired the guy after he left for similar reasons in the 90s.

You're probably correct. You usually are. Why would I concerned about the U of I hiring a guy back with a history of inappropriate behavior, to only then have him inappropriately touch a student's genitals?

No big deal. I guess what happened is ok.

I would wager heavily on this team against the Academic All Big Ten team.

Absolutely no big deal. Just like it was at Penn State.

i actually think it is kind of a big deal to hire the guy back and have him touching several students genitals. more of a big deal than KF swearing after a press interview
