Dix gone...

Would you resent your boss giving that kind of money away rather than rewarding his loyal employees?
Not at all. It's his money. I wouldn't want someone telling me what to do with my money.

I'm also free to leave without any strings if I feel my boss isn't who I want to work for.

Curious- it has been posted that Josh and Owen didn’t get along. So was that bullshit, or did Creighton just buy a soap opera?
Money talks. I can get along at work (which is what this is for these guys) with a lot of people I don’t like for $2 million

I don't really get how NIL runs, who is handing out these contracts, who makes decisions, etc.

But presumably, each team is working with their own finite pot of money to spread around. $2 million that goes to one player means $2 million that ISN'T getting spent somewhere else.

So, while this might be chump change for some of the donors contributing to the NIL pot, the pot is still finite, and someone has to make decisions about how much gets spent where. So, what helps Creighton more for next year? $2mil for Josh Dix, or $1mil each for 2 guys?

BB has always been a game about stars, and economists have made the argument that NBA superstars are vastly underpaid, and run-of-the-mill NBA players are overpaid. That probably applies here, as well. But Dix doesn't seem like a superstar at the collegiate level...if he was, Iowa wouldn't have been so bad last year.

Everything is just so darn obscure. What is the rest of Creighton's roster getting paid? What is the market value for a borderline P4 all-conference guard? So many unknowns...
Head scratcher. Iowa has almost four times more students than does Creighton. So, someone with deep pockets is involved with Creighton. How about that Creighton football team??? Yep, there is a deep pocket daddy supporting Creighton basketball out there.

In someways I can't blame students that grew up in Iowa that has an average household income of $65K not wanting to support a college sports team made up of millionaires. I can very well see right off the bat an increased interest in cheering on Ben and team already.

Interesting, that Iowa's new guard who could have easily gotten more than Dix has said he doesn't care about the money and just wanted to play for his coach. That should go over well with the U of I students right there.

Play hard boys and leave your sweat and blood on the court and the Iowa fan's will love you.

Warren Buffett and his guest were in an adjacent booth to us one time at Omaha's Gorat's Steakhouse.

We heard it was his favorite restaurant. Now it no longer exists, nor does my personal favorite Piccolo's.

Money and winning is a cure all. Wouldn’t shock me at all, if Dix and Freeman are buds next year. Any beef they may or may not had, goes away if they are winning games at a high clip.
