Dish Network

I'll be out of town on the 3rd and need to find out where the game is being broadcasted. I want to record it. Couldn't find it listed anywhere on the tube; not on local channels or anywhere else.

I'm in the Iowa City area.

Hope you can help me.

Here is a site that will tell you.

Big Ten Network Gamefinder

Put in your zip code, and your cable/satellite provider, and it will tell you the channels. It won't have the games listed til the week of the games, so I'm assuming Monday they will have them listed.

The BTN isn't on the basic package with Dish anymore, I am almost 100% sure you have to buy one of their higher packages to get it. That might be the problem as well.

Within the Big Ten footprint, Dish Network customers just have to be on Top 120+ to receive the BTN, which is the same as it's always been. Outside of the Big Ten footprint, it's available on the sports pack for $7/month.

Have folks in Nebraska started getting the BTN without getting the sports pack yet? When has Nebraska "officially" been considered as being a part of the Big Ten footprint?

Yes they have. For their 1st game against Chattanooga, NE Dish customers will get the game on BTN by just having 120+ package (or above).

We've got Dish Network in the DSM area right now, but we're moving to the Denver area at the end of Sept - anyone know what package I'll need to buy to get all the Iowa games? The BTN ones shouldn't be a problem, but I'm concerned with the ones that are regional on ESPN/ABC.

To be precise, Nebraska many folks living in Nebraska won't get the BTN on Dish until Sept. 1. I didn't know that ... so I just haggled with the customer service folks until they just gave me the sports pack for free. Yep ... homer can be bitchy.

If you get the Sports Pack for $7/month, you will get the BTN. For all the games on ESPN/ESPN2/ABC, you just need to get local channels and any package that carries ESPN/ESPN2. If Iowa plays on ABC and your local Denver ABC station does not carry the game, it will be on either ESPN or ESPN2. The Big Ten signed a deal about 4 years ago to make sure all those games got national coverage.

I have the sports pack and love it. You get a ton more games, like the games on the SEC Network or ACC Network (which are syndicated on channels like CSN California or Altitude). Plus more MLB games. Plus tons more college basketball games. It's especially nice if your local RSN is carrying a MLB, NBA or NHL game, then you can just flip on another RSN and get the game you want.
