I'm not sure their offense is going to have an advantage, but if their defense shows up and is prepared...it could be a long day for us on the offensive side of the ball. They have a couple of things going on defense that kind of rivals MSU in a way. Big DT's that move really well...and corners that can play press coverage and man all over the field. You play our wide outs with three DBs and that doesn't allow much in our run game as they have the athletes in their front seven or eight to shut us down.
That being said, there are a couple of variables that may come into play. LSU is disappointed to get Iowa and the Outback, and I think they will take us lightly and maybe not work quite as hard on conditioning. If they come in out of shape...they will pay for that. The second thing is that our coaching staff has 4 weeks to get ready for the game and come up with a game plan for this game offensively. Like the tight end sets against OSU, they have to find something they can exploit. If we try to run stretch with Weisman all day, it's not going to be pretty. You won't have much success on the edge of this defense. I'm hoping we trap and use the FB's on LBs... and run straight at them.
LSU should be favored heavily...but KF has done very well getting his teams ready to play on January 1st. I think it will be a much closer game than the pundits may think.
