Didn't take ESPN long to jump on the B1G...

So you've got two stories, one of which wasn't even about an SEC team (at the time). That's a mountain of evidence

If you read the story LSU offered 80 grand and AM wouldnt pay more to get him. So he went to LSU. AJ Green also sat out the first 4 games a couple years back. Why is this?

That SEC game wasn't Great defenses...I've never seen two QB's from supposedly great teams be inept...and then out of all the money they spend to assemble their teams they couldn't find a kicker to pay to play? cost Bama a game.

Ok..... yet the Big 10's greatest defense this year among many accounts (Penn State) who held Iowa and to 3 points and who's only loss came at the hands of Alabama and their inept quarterback..... this great Big 10 defense gave up 27 points to Alabama in just over three quarters of play in Happy Valley. So if Alabama's quarterback is so inept.... what would you say about our quarterback?

And if Nick Saban wanted to he could have pulled a Brett Beilema and beaten Penn State by 30.

No I don't have any evidence. I guess it's just common sense.

So you really think not one player in the last 12 years at Iowa has been illegally compensated in one way shape or form?

I can't say one way or another way any better than you can... but is it common sense and something that I'm going to throw out to support an arguement? No. Because I just plain don't know and don't think it's a valid arguement to use speculation without support of evidence. Way too many fans use speculation as a basis for their arguement and when it really comes down to it... it's only speculation and doesn't validate anything. That goes for any school or conference...

Again, Iowa has fared well against the SEC. But we've been the lone bright spot in that regard for some time now. As a whole, the Big Ten is not as good as the SEC right now.

He's wrong about a lot of things, but saying the SEC is superior to the Big Ten isn't one of them. When's the last time the Big Ten's best was equal to the SEC's best?

If you read my post carefully I very clearly said that the B10 isn't as good as the SEC. We agree.

You're just full of excuses today aren't you. If you want to play that game....

Ia over FL
Ia over LSU (Luckiest ending ever and huge cover up for terrible clock management)
FL over IA Worst officiating ever.
Ia over USC (Carolina version)

Do you even remember that game. We won with 47 yards rushing......47. We were down to our 5th string RB, Sam Brownlee. Could we have made it any easier for LSU to destroy us? Yet we were still there at the end. Had any of our top RBs been healthy, that hail mary would not have been necessary.

Its fun to read how people think ESPN has it out for the B10 yet ABC/ESPN televise 3-4 B10 games each Saturday. But they hate the B10. Sure.

Also fun to read any B10 fans making fun of SEC's off the field troubles.

OSU, Michigan, Iowa, & now PSU. Each in the last 12 months have had serious off the field issues.

Isn't there a saying about glass houses & stones? Probably applies here.

ESPN gets to have their cake and eat it, too. It's not that difficult to grasp.

Now what is difficult for Iowa and other B10 fans to grasp is just because a studio head or tv color guy says something negative and/or doesn't kiss your ***, that doesn't mean they're against the B10. It just means they're telling it as they see it, doing their job basically.

Prime example: Everybody in Iowa loved Chris Speilman after the 2006 Outback Bowl. He blasted the officals for poor penalities and stuck up for Iowa. He was everybody's favorite color guy.

Now he gets blasted for comments about made about McNutt (CS correctly called him out for sandbagging a route) & for basically telling Prater to shut and play (once again, fairly correct assessment).

Basically around here its like this:

Iowa/B10 awesome = good solid tv coverage (BTN)
Anything but postive comments regarding Iowa/B10 or hard truth = SEC Lovers & B10 Haters (ESPN, ABC, CBS, etc)

Like I said, fun stuff to read.
