Did you like the 3rd and 15 Stanley run up the gut?

LOL!! So perfectly fitting.

Did this call come from Captain Nepotism or Jr?

Awesome offensive ideology.

If i was an upperclassman and had to put up with the incompetence of Greg Davis and now suffer through Jr's training program i would be PLENTY PISSED.

Sad and inexcusable. No other serious program or AD would use their football program this way.

A top notch OC should have been hired and hit the ground running.

Oh wait, no one would want this job under the current coach.

If I were a star Freshman, such as Epenesa or Wirfs, I'd seriously be looking to transfer to a real football program.

It was the single most baffling play I can remember. And thats saying something.

Unless of course you just plan to punt anyway. Which isn't ok either

A top notch OC *was* hired......and assigned to coach the offensive line....a position he had NEVER coached before.

Brilliant move by Kirk.

The second down play call was just as bad. I hate to use the word quit. But I think the coaching did on that drive.

According to Jon Miller on twitter, Iowa with a whopping 74 yards of offense in the 2nd half.

There's really no words to describe in accurate terms how bad that is against NW.

Almost as much as the other 32 runs that went for 2.7 yards.

Wirfs is good, but he’s not as good as he’s made out to be. He’s a physical beast but doesn’t have the mental part figured out yet.

I agree. He wil

I agree. He WILL be very good.

What IS puzzling is why our coach and his son have to rely on a true freshman tackle for the first time in 19 years? The Ferentz men have the resume and both have been here plenty long to have built up quality depth. That is on them.

And i dont want to hear the injury excuse. Every team deals with it. Same number of scholarships.

And the "Greg Davis wasted too many schollies on wide receivers" doesn't fly either. Who is responsible for that?

The buck stops on one VERY expensive desk.

* The Oline has been pretty underwhelming for having the core return. Not sure if it is on the new position coach, the schemes, or the playcalling? I wonder what Polasek's history is with zone blocking schemes. Is he a true believer? Man i would love to see more physical straight ahead blocking.

Polasek has never coached OL before. Never.

What exactly did BF think was going to happen on that play? An extra five yards for the punter? I will never understand that call.

I think someone already said it, but that was essentially a give up play call. If the 2nd and 17 run would have popped bigger, I don't think you see that call on 3rd and 15. If you are going to give up I'm not sure you want your 5.5 40 yd QB running the ball though...he looked fish-out-of-water on that read.

WoW....are y'all forgetting the run on 3rd and 7 in overtime?
If you are planning on going for it on 4th down, then that isn't a horrible play call IMO. In theory it makes the 4th down play more manageable than, say, and 4th and 7 that would occur if you threw an incomplete pass.
