Did Kirk Force DJK To Wear A Garbage Can On His Head?

I thought he also had to wear a sign that said something about not working hard or not showing up to meetings.

He also said in hindsight he wouldn't have came to Iowa either... Well duh.. That said the guy never transferred either. He could have left but he was playing a lot and doing well on the field.

The whole blackballed deal is a bunch of crap. The NFL is waaaay too big for little old KF to be telling teams to not draft a kid that could have played. I don't think DJK tried hard enough because he was plenty good enough to have gotten into a camp somewhere as a FA. Did he even do that? Or Canada? The dude didn't have the heart to dig down and try. Maybe KF told teams he wouldn't recommend him as a high pick but the same NFL that drafted Johnny Manziel, and lots of other questionable kids isn't going to ignore DJK if they thought he had what it took...They just wouldn't.

Welp, there's 1.

Any other similar or opposing opinions from the other 1000 players who've come to Iowa in the last 18 years?

They should reach out to Sanderson, Willies, Dominique Douglas... you know all those guys given a raw deal and treated unfairly...

Oh DJK, poor him...

Jokes aside, the one guy I'd like to here from, a guy who actually did get treated unfairly, one Marcus Coker. I'd like to get his thoughts on this.

If I remember correctly, some of his teammates confirmed his stories, but they also confirmed the meta-narrative or story arc that djk just wasn't a good fit at Iowa or with Ferentz and the staff..

anyone with a personality isn't a fit with KF and his program.

That isn't even close to being fair and I'm as far from a KF apologist as you can get...but I do try to be fair.

Pat Angerer and Matt Roth might have been the biggest personalities to ever come thru Iowa and they thrived. Bob Sanders was a big personality and still thrived. Drew Ott, Christian Ballard, Drew Tate, Mo Brown, etc, etc were all big personalities/problem children/hot heads who all thrived.

The difference between them and DJK is that their work effort matched their personalities...DJK tried to live on his personality and talent alone. KF can suffer a lot of things...but lack of work ethic will NEVER be tolerated...

Matt Roth is the only guy that comes close to fitting my idea of a "personality" like DJK. KF likes to control all things in KF's world. If KF can't keep his iron fist around his players, he'd rather they not be on his team. KF doesn't suffer outgoing, out spoken personalities.

Then you didn't know Pat Angerer...dude had more personality in his little finger than DJK could hope to have...

Actually it's called sarcasm and there is a hint of truth to it. Someday I expect that more Hawkeye family dysfunction will come out. It has been dysfunctional, but a different type of dysfunction.

I thought Pat was injured and got frustrated and nearly quit before ever seeing the field but I can't remember right now....
