Dickie V in the house Thursday

I would rather have repeated paper cuts to the cracks between my toes than hear just one "diaper dandy" from him.

Dookie V is the poster boy for what is wrong with college basketball. All hype, no character.
 
And his love affair with izzo is worse thank dakichs love affair with craft (I actually like dakich though).
 
It's going to be a silent telecast for me. I can't stand the man as a broadcaster. What a way to ruin a game.
 
Even if Dolph and Bobby are 8 seconds ahead or behind in audio with the game I will listen to them rather than the "dickster".

Listen, I don't like the guy as a broadcaster either. His obnoxiousness is distracting when you're trying to enjoy a basketball game.

However, I have no clue what you're talking about in terms of character. Maybe he's done something I don't know about, but I met the guy in person in the Bahamas and I was floored by his generosity. His broadcasting is certainly a bit of an act. He wasn't near as animated in real life, and he had nothing but good things to say about Iowa basketball. His wife was very friendly as well. He's also done a ton of work raising money for cancer awareness.

*When we met him we were sitting on some couches in the hotel lobby. His wife went to check them into their room, and he came over and sat next to my brother and I. He proceeded to ask us where we were from, and when we said Iowa he talked to us for a solid 10-15 minutes about Hawkeye basketball. We didn't go out of our way to talk to him. He came and talked to us. When his wife finished checking them in she came and joined the conversation as well. I was pretty impressed.

Again, I can't stand him as a broadcaster, but to my knowledge he's a pretty decent human being. Unless there is a valid reason for it I guess I don't see the need to attack his character.

I am not talking about Dookies character, but the character of the players he hypes non stop. He does not seem to care about that in the least, as long as they are a ptper.
 
Ugh. I think I'll mute the TV and do my own color, now I just need to find someone to do play by play.
 
I guess I'm in the minority but I'm looking forward to having Dickie V. Obviously he's over the top but for one game out of the year... fine by me.
