Well here is something some might raise an eyebrow at. At the end of last yr DeVries shut down his kid pretty early on saying he was injured. Well one of his teammates Sencire Harris who's since transfered to Cinci said that Tucker wasn't hurt...
I had my suspicions that Darian had pretty much quit and shut things down early. He was one foot out the door and didn't even want to make the NCAA tourny (that they probably shoulda been in). He wanted to get started on getting his next gig. Which I would bet conversations were being had way before his last game. So hearing that his kid who he had shut down and had a surgery in Feb and teammates saying he wasn't hurt is funny. It looks like Daddy shut him down so he wouldn't actually get hurt so he could be good to go wherever they ended up.
I think we ended up with the right guy. Ben seems to be legit. Based on what I'd seen and heard from him on how he ended up at Iowa he did right by Drake and his kids the best he could. He by no means wasn't checked out before losing to TT. DeVries didn't even have WV do the NIT he didn't say good bye to his players or nothing. Time will tell with on the floor success but I'm pretty excited that things have gone how they have so far. I was in the DeVries boat initially prior to learning more about Ben and everything. Beth seems to know what she's doing we should be fortunate for that
