With 8 interceptions, on an Undefeated, Top 10 ranked IOWA HAWKEYE team,
Des King deserves talk for the Heisman. The LSU back, Fivenett,or whatever, had about 37 yards against Bama.

Desmond King's performance, overall, is as GREAT as any Colllege football player in America.

If he comes back next year and has the same type season defending the pass and getting picks, and then adds some big time punt and kick off returns, he might go to New York. But to win it you almost have to be on the offensive side of the ball to get more touches. So if he comes back put in some plays for him at receiver. We will lose Tevaun and Hillyer.
 


Did Michigan give Charles Woodson plays on offense to catch passes or run the ball? Cant remember.
 


Just looked up woodson's Mich stats and he was catching passes and running the ball from LOS his junior and senior seasons. I think the Heisman should go to a guy who can run routes, catch the ball, run and tote the ball, play defense in coverage, tackle, catch punts and kickoffs and run them back very effectively, and block.

MVPs in baseball are the 5 tool guys and I would like to see more Heisman winners be 5 or more tool guys. Heck some of these running backs and Qbs who win heismans never have to block or tackle, which are two of the most basics skills in the game. It is called tackle football.

Yes, and Charles Woodson was a more skilled overall football player than Peyton M. Manning was not fast, didnt really run the option or run much at all (his dad did at ole miss). Woodson repeatedly used 5 or six football skills every game for two years. I was glad to see a defensive guy win it for a change.
 


Desmond said Indiana sidelines were trash talking him whole game.Guess they were trying to rattle him,Didn't Work. Haha
 


1st team AA would be huge - Consensus AA would be better - not many of those guys at Iowa - although we've had a few - throw in Jim Thorpe award.......??? and hope he returns for his senior season!

Not the Heisman this year but he should definitely be in the running for the Jim Thorpe Award for best defensive back. What's really amazing is he was not even on the watch list of 42 for that award at the beginning of the year. Somebody screwed up there on the nominating committee.
