Derrick Mitchell Headed to Texas Tech

is it just me or does it feel like he announced he was leaving years ago? Guess it was really just a few months ago. since he was not around in the spring, it felt like he was already gone.

anyway, I wish him good luck. I hope he gets some serious playing time at TT.

I can hear it already...
Shimonik (sp), passes over the middle toWillies,WHO PITCHES IT TO MITCHELL, who scampers 170 yards to the end to the end-zone! And the Iowa trio does it again!! How could Kirfer ever let these guys get away… He obviously doesn't want to win. Now let's see how coach KLIFF will get JERminic involved AGAIN! he obviously wants to win

I thought he was underused last year...but you can't argue the tandem we had going. The fact that Wadley became the third down back, well, hard to argue that either. My issue, Wadley and Daniels were borderline awful in blitz pick up. I think DMX was the best blocking back we had...but you need to keep your "threat" on the field...Wadley.

I think he could have a great year if he gets the opportunity...but this is certainly no failing of our coaching staff to play him. Tough luck that he had two great players ahead of him.

Wait until all the Red Raiders fans find out that the gunshot noise sound effects in every DMX song from the nineties were actually references to the Guns Up hand gesture and the Red Raider's heavily armed mascot Raider Red.

Funny thing is...have you ever been to Lubbock. I have. Much as people say recruiting to Iowa is tough... Lubbock is practically the definition of "middle of nowhere". A bigger city (think Cedar Rapids with oil money), but definitely West Texas.
