I think you are misreading the chart (the spacing is off for some reason). Belton still at SS. I agree that both safeties were awful. Brents was fine in coverage but did not tackle well. Moss and Hankins both looked great.I like seeing Brents as the starting strong safety. I think he's our most talented defensive back and Belton had a really bad game against Purdue.
Yeah he was out of position a ton. Sure he can hit but what good does that do once or twice a game when 5 plus times a game he's not where he's supposed to be covering guys. I'd even like to see Merriweather get a shot. That dude is an athlete. Was (is) a hell of a basketball player too.I like seeing Brents as the starting strong safety. Sounds exactly like Amani Jones, quite a few here complained about that.Yeah he was out of position a ton. I kinda thought putting Brents in at corner and Moss in nickel covering slot WRs (instead of LBs) would be our best lineup but I'm just an armchair QB
That dude was made for special teams. Run down there and hit somebody!!! Or put him in on passing downs and say just chase the QB/ball carrier with no gap/covereage responsibilities. But yeah that's what kept him from playing much defense too as an LBSounds exactly like Amani Jones, quite a few here complained about that.
