Demand for B1G title game? Anyone else dumping tix?

I had the bright idea back in July of buying a bunch of tickets with buddies for the Big Ten title game. At worst, we'd unload them and probably not lose any money. Not sure how accurate that is now. It looks like demand is way down. Anyone else trying to unload tickets? Wouldn't you think demand would be just as high this year (Wisconsin travels better than MSU, and I'd figure the Penn State demand would be about equal to that of Iowa)...what am I missing?

Cheapest tickets are around $40/each.
Last year, they never got lower than $300/each, for the most part, close to kickoff, with very, very few sellers on the sidewalks.

I would think PSU fans would be eating them up considering the last 10 years they have had.

I kept waiting for them to drop last year. It never really happened

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense to me. I'd think Penn State fans would be super eager to finally see a big game. Even more than Hawkeye fans last year. And doesn't Wisconsin always travel better than Sparty? What gives? I'm reluctant to sell under face on stub hub yet...when does the market usually peak for something like this?

Yes, I was very shocked that I wasn't even able to break even when I sold my tickets. It's not as if it is a lopsided game with #5 playing an unranked team or something.

I'm a bit surprised that Penn State doesn't have a lot of fans wanting to go. But then again, I really don't know how well Lions fans travel. Not surprised by Wisconsin, since they've gone to so many B1G CGs since the game started.

I suppose there is also uncertainty as to whether the winner would make a NY6 or the CFP?

When did we have the West locked up last season? Was it only after Nebraska? Or was it after Minnesota? Penn State fans really knew that they'd be going to this game fairly late on Saturday, so less time to plan for a trip to Indy?

I work with two PSU engineers who both told me PSU would travel well. When I asked one of them why ticket prices where under $30 he was surprised. I just looked and see there are tickets under $20....I would have never guessed the lack of demand.

We had it locked up after beating Purdue.

Yep, Penn State is screwing me over. $19 gets you inside. Should I dump all my tix now or see if there is any kind of upswing tomorrow?

It probably hurts when the playoff committee just said winning the conference championship of easily by far the toughest conference won't get you into the final four unless one of two lesser conferences have favorites lose -- oh, and the 3rd place division team is ranked a spot higher than the teams playing for the championship.

For all the talk from the committee about winning your conference and strength of schedule ... does not mean a thing.

It's for blue bloods unless a team makes it impossible to turn them away -- that's why Iowa hate was over the top in 2015.

For $19 a hold onto them and try to sell them day of the game. For that matter, I might just keep them at that price to spite those two fan bases!

Might be better to go watch the game. If one team does really well, they may leapfrog into the Playoffs (like Ohio State did last year). That could be fun to have seen.
