The new Illini coach said it best in her interview yesterday, "to be elite you have to emphasize defense". Iowa will struggle this year with athletic defensive minded teams. Lisa refuses to change her ways. The way we handled on ball screens all day says it all. No hedges not once, constant slip under and most of the time gave up a 3 or got beat going to the hoop. Very frustrating to watch year after year. Move Warnock out to SF, bench Gabby, and start Stuelke. Gives you more size and the 2nd best athlete on the team is now on the floor with an All-American post. Bring Gabby off the bench, she can't drive, can't create and is quick for about 2 steps, and has to shoot set shots...Stuelke brings so much more.
