I would have to say hell no. They were already anointed Big 10 champs this summer. Magazines have taken our nickname "Bullies of the Big 10" and handed that to Nebraska and their fans don't even think much of this new rivalry. It won't matter if we win because they will just use the excuse that Jared Crick wasn't available to play and that made all the difference.

Id like to point out something old dude. You seem like a respectable poster and you have been respectable to me but ive got a question. This is a hawkeye board and i respect that. And i also realize that nebraska got there butts handed to them this last weekend. I also realize that you beat a top 25 team. Yet you and alot of people on here. Even alot of soundoff was focused on the huskers getting beat. Making fun of the huskers getting beat. I think we can all recall both teams getting beat by teams we shouldnt of this year. I dont find these types of threads on HuskerBoard where we just make fun of the Hawkeyes over and over again. So, my question is why. You beat a top ranked team, moved up in the rankings and positioned yourselves better in the Legends division. Yet i dont read about that, nor do i see that on soundoff. Why?
Oh, I don't know about that. I was just reading some posts from Huskers fans a few weeks ago about how they view us and it wasn't pretty.
All in good fun. What do you want us fans to do get all serious, cuz we beat Michigan? Thats what we were supposed to do, I posted about good plays and bad ones and congratulated the team on a great effort. I do get fired up about bowl games and I guess now Indy as well, when we go. I tend to talk more about, how the players are playing good or bad, injuries and development (and yes sometimes that includes what classes they are taking). I dont get to into the whole we won, we won, we lost, we lost, part of it. Or atleast I try not to, sometimes I get sucked in. I think more along the lines of a team being a machine, all parts have to work together, the better they work together the more output you get. Being the type of guy I am, I like to tear things apart/redesign them and see if I can make them work better. So I look at players and positions, watch games, drink beer, grill out, have a good time and see if what I think I know, comes to pass or not. I used to be very good at it before we went to divisions, but am having problems with it now.
As far as poking fun at, I know some of us had to hear it last week from Husker fans.

Do tell, because from my standpoint, I, as well as most Husker fans really never thought of Iowa. I used to kind of pull for them, until Iowa fans, for no reason, started acting like spanked children.
And that's fine, but from an outsider's point of view, you do seem to spend quite a bit of time talking about the Huskers.
I don't remember pointing any fun a Iowa for the loss to the Guffers, as a matter of fact, I posted a thread here that stated that your season was not over, and lookie here. You have your destiny in your own hands.

Honestly, when the Mildcats beat Nebby, my first reaction wasn't to ridicule Nebraska at all.
I turned to my wife while driving back from Iowa City (listening to the Nebby game on the radio) and said "now Nebraska is officially in the big ten." They've been beaten by Northworstern on their own field.
It isn't the loss to Wisconsin, or the upcoming epic battles against other great programs that define your member status in our lovely conference. No, it's losing to Northwestern!

Olddude is single handedly obsessed with the Big 12 in general, and Nebraska in particular, and has been since the summer. He hasn't been popping off much since the Big 12 is clearly better than the Big 10 this year, and Nebraska was a top 10 team until recently.
I imagine he had a lot of crazy stored up that he needed to get out.

Yeah what ever. No I just have to hear it from my wife and my inlaws all the time, so I figure I may as well be smarter about their team then they are. Pretty easy to get them to tone it down now.

Nebraska could have stayed in the B12N and filled a warehouse full of division trophy's. But that would have been the easy road and championship programs don't shy away from competition (like...cough, cough...Boise) they seek it. Nebraska will end up in the upper half of the conference more often than not. And when Nebraska comes to Kinnick, it will be the hottest ticket of the season.
I think its better to have Husker fans here than the dilusional ISU fans. Nebraska has won championships, they matter. ISU is just a preseason tune up game that Iowa occasionally loses.

I think it has a little something to do with so many Husker fans claiming they were going to own the BIG TEN when they came aboard. I live in western Iowa and know tons of Husker fans personally 99% are arrogant douchebags

olddude, my inlaws are ISU fans. Try dealing with that crap when they talk so proudly when the accomplish they make in a season. Ill never forget the year i meet my wife. My 1st college football game was Nebraska vs ISU at Jack Trice. We lost that year and i had to hear it over and over and over and over and over again until Nebraska kicked the snot out of them the next year. Its because of that that whenever Nebraska wins i am very humble. Last week nebraska won big time but Hawks lost to Minn. Never said a word to my co workers because you could tell they were hirting. And they paid me the same respect this week. One of the things i hated about our old conference was colorado. There only goal for the year was beating Nebraska. There coach would circle that date on the calendar and strive for only that goal every year. There student section got kicked out for throwing **** baloons at fans. Cars got there tires slashed and vandalized all the time. My point is, when i saw this and other posts it kind of reminded me like that. I am an Nebraska fan and people on here are Hawkeye fans. We are rivals but we are all midwesterns. I hold people in the midwest to a higher standard then others because of the generosity and kindness we show to one another. I just didnt want to think of the state I live in to go down that road.
Like I said, it's all in good fun. If you want to be fair thou, you have to admit the B10 is down and you have to admit alot of your fans were saying things like "we are going to roll". Infact as I said in another post, what Braska fans say about a team (they hardly know) before a game and after is all spun on how they want themselves to look. I didnt see alot of people in here hacking on Michigan before we played them and I didnt see alot of people touting them after the game. It could be because we understand how all this works and Braska fans are having trouble due to the fact it's a new conference, but if thats the case they should just not say anything. We are all to aware of how ISU fans are, and to be honest, alot of our fans are starting to view your fans the same way. I mean you had to deal with alot of teams like ISU and CO, it would be stupid to think some of that didnt rub off and/or cause your fans to be the way they are. Talking/typing, when you have no idea just makes people look stupid. I went over to one of your sites way back when and tried to talk football and share what I knew about B10 teams and got jumped on left and right, so I stopped doing it. Now I surf thru every once and awhile to see about injuries and such, but I dont post anything. I notice now that there are alot of Braska fans asking questions about the same things I tried to talk to them about way back when, oh well.
Anyway I am not trying to be an arse, like I said it's in good fun, but until more attitudes of braska fans change, you guys are going to keep getting ribbed in the B10. The ones who have posted over here, seem like pretty good people, so I am just funning.
