Thats what I gather also. Makes sence thats where he played, even when at camp here in Iowa.I think Covert has made the move to offense, as a fullback
Hope the switch works well for Covert, particularly considering the questions about Rogers' health. Just never saw those guys really being able to put on the type of weight they would need to be B1G DTs.
Seemed like the staff trying to come up with another King.
This kid seemed to have decent speed playing out of the LB/RB position. He might have the skills to be a TE as well. Add 20-30 lbs on that frame and you might have something pretty good.Hopkins and Covert. Hopefully with three scholarships committed to three such similar guys that at least one ends up making an impact.

Here are some incoming weights from Iowa DL of the past:
Mattison: 230
Iwebema: 220
King: 230
Kroul: 215
Klug: 220
Daniels: 230
It's not really the in-coming weight, but the frame and the athleticism. Bryan and Ken had the athleticism to play on the outside. Karl was broad shouldered. Daniels had a Russell Maryland, or Warren Sapp type build.
King and Kroul are really outliers. I also am not sure they would have developed as much if there were any alternatives. Kanellis and Bain were supposed to come in and take those spots, but injuries and other issues derailed both of them. K & K gave us their best and it was often great! But for the Hawks to get BCS wins, they need NFL quality linemen.
