Deacon Hill QBR

Maybe it was a missed calculation, but ESPN box score has Hill's QBR at 2. I would bet that set some kinda record if true!

That was worse than even Padilla. 6-21, what's that? Only a couple of drops. And yet, still 5-1, exactly where most of us thought we'd be.

There is not a game left Iowa cannot win. Still see a 10-2 season and a trip to Indy.

If Labas is healthy, do you switch to Labas after the bye week? Only problem is Iowa still has Wisc and Minn before the bye.

Maybe let Hill have one more chance against Wisc and if he tanks again, switch to Labas against Minn.

That was a painful game to watch. Purdue was so close and yet so far away. I really liked Labas in his first game. Why not give him another shot?

They may well be 10-2 and head to Indy, but that won't end well. See the PSU final score of 31-0 and PSU is not the best team in the East.

Iowa is built to compete in the West, but not win it all. The West is a very weak part of the B1G. Wait until the Pac 12 teams join. Holy crap, it'll be a bloodbath.

You realize that no one in the University management, the major donors or the State share your thought process. Iowa finishing 10-2 is always a very successful season at Iowa. A shot at an 11 win season is spectacular for Iowa.

I'm 64. Iowa has not enjoyed even relative parity with tOSU and the whore Ann Arbor since I was 1. If that is the level of play you expect from Iowa you are going to be very disappointed most of the time.

IF Iowa finishes 10-2 and the other loss is to Wisc, then I think Wisc will win the West division.

If Iowa finishes 10-2 but beats Wisc then I think Iowa wins the West.

Come on man. They played Michigan and OSU very tough during much of Hayden's time at Iowa.

I know inside Iowa athletics and with many major donors they are fine with 10-2. I hear it when I'm there for certain sports fundraisers late each summer. I bite my tongue as it's clear by their brown noses they're so far up the butt of the coach and athletic department, I can smell the stink several feet away.

When Dolph says the defense are a bunch of bad dudes, and he means it just as it sounds, then says the offense is working hard. It's easy to know what he means which is why most people in the room laugh and just shake their heads.

But for those of us who live outside of Iowa, the football program receives little respect and gets laughed at with the Punting is Winning t-shirts.

He threw a lot better against Michigan State. I'm sure he won't continue to miss the way he did yesterday.

Thank you for remaining positive. I don't get it. The guy has one middling game and the fans melt down. Unreal. The kid is fine, the team is fine, the program is fine. This offense is like a coiled spring just waiting to explode upward. It's going to happen this weekend. Just wait.

Come on man. Did they play with parity every often? No, not ever. Until Penn St came along they played Michigan AND tOSU almost every year. I think Hayden was like 2 or 3 and 15 or 16 against OSU. About the same as Michigan. Those schools, and now Penn St., USC, Washington and Oregon are easily in a different status than Iowa. An Iowa win over tOSU, MIchigan, Penn St. and now the three west coast power teams. I'm sure every win Iowa has had with Michigan and tOSU has come as an underdog.

Those schools all have much more money, BB reputations, larger populations from which to draw in state players and some sugar daddies that will fund 5* recruits in NIL, 5* recruits that wouldn't return a call from Iowa. We punch way above our weight. Iowa should be near the bottom of the Big Ten every year. Instead, we're around the top almost every year. Not the best but around the top.

What was Iowa’s record against OSU and MICH from 2005-2022? Same years, PSU vs Iowa?
I'm not doing that research but I'll guess terrible with tOSU and surprisingly better than that with Michigan and better yet with PSU. I'm guessing we were dogs in virtually every win. You surely do not assert Iowa is in the same strata as those three programs?

Labas is he is healthy. He is by far the better QB.

Geez, Iowa not in the same strata as the big 3. The Hawks should just save themselves the trouble with risking injury and humiliation by just forfeiting these games.

I see KF saying all these years we're just Iowa and can't compete against the big 3 has brainwashed at least one person.

I never heard Bill Snyder say that at K-State when recruiting against Oklahoma and the Texas schools. Have you ever been to Manhattan, KS? No offense Manhattan, but what an awful place as compared to Iowa City.

Yes, but Snyder could get anyone into KSU who he wanted. "What's that, you have a 1.3 GPA at juco and a pending felony charge? No problem."

Iowa has had plenty of years where we have been at close to parity with the big dogs. Sure, we didn't always come out on top, but when games are coming down to Terrelle Pryor making big plays on 4th and 10 for Ohio to beat us we are right there with them. Problem is it has been a few years since we have had the balance to be competitive with those folks, but that's not to say Kurt Ball is hopeless.

BFer has earned our trust over the last 4 years. His ability to get the most out of the QB and the OLine is on display every week.
