Deace's prediction for Iowa?

I really can't see either of those games being losses. If Iowa loses a home game, I'd bet my money on it being OSU.

I could see a loss to Michigan St, they won't be great but they will be good and don't think they don't have that game circled on the calendar, but then again Penn St did last year and Iowa went to their place and walked out with a win.

Iowa is NOT going to lose to Arizona. They have a new Offensive and Defensive coordinator and I think we win this game easily.

Sometimes the easiest answer is the best one. Ohio State will most likely be the best team on Iowa's schedule, so I'd favor OSU in that one. I think they're more likely to lose to OSU than anyone else, simply because I think they'll have a better overall team than everyone else. I know college football doesn't always come down to that, and upsets happen. However, as a prediction, I'm going with the most simple answer.

It didn't help that at any one time, guys who were expected to be starters were injured. Calloway missed the first game do to suspension, Bulaga missed three or four weeks due to the thyroid thing, Vandervelde didn't play until October. Dace broke his leg at MSU. I can think of two instances where the line was healthy last year - at Wisconsin, and the bowl game.

Iowa put what was basically a patchwork o-line out there every week, along with two freshman running backs, and still managed to be effective enough to pave the way for an 11 win season. If this years group can stay healthy...you never know.
GREAT points!

I do not miss the local sports radio in Des Moines, they just say **** to inflame people. I used to listen when I would come back to see my family but after I heard they hired Matt ****ing Perrault (sp?) I took it off of my radio memory.

Perrault used to be here in Omaha, I am just west of there. Glad you guys have him now. Is Bob Bruce still out there? I thought he was good. As far as an Iowa loss, how do so many have Iowa beating OSU? It has been a long time since we beat them.

I think Iowa can eek out a win against the Bucks at home, but I would never 'guarantee' a win over them because of the overall series record. The nice thing about the 2010 version of the Hawkeyes is there is no way they will be intimidated by the Buckeyes this year, which I can't always say is the case. Most of these players have only played the Bucks once ('09 OT game) so they will have no trouble believing they belong on the same field as the vaunted Hairless Nuts. I think the Hawks can do it at home this year if they are healthy.

PSU has the talent to compete with anyone any given day and they obviously have some motivation to beat Iowa. Much depends on what they can get from their new QB. If they are having a 'QB Controversy' when they come to Kinnick I will feel confident putting this down as a win.

MSU always plays us tough and imo the MSU game has been the most physically challenging game in each of the past 2 seasons for Iowa. Lots of injuries on both sides to take note of the following Sunday. As a Hawk fan I love the relentless, hard hitting style our program has on defense and I think MSU is cut from the same cloth even if they are not statistically as good as us. Iowa's recent tendency to field underwhelming offenses makes any defense like that scary.

Not worried too much about the Wisky game even though I think they will be good. They're not as physical as MSU or PSU and I believe Iowa has the clear advantage in talent and coaching almost every time they play.

I actually think the programing on KXNO is pretty good. Love the morning show. Don't get to listen to Keith and Andy much, but enjoy it when I do. Like Ken Miller and Perrault is better than the previous clown they had in his chair IMO.

Yeah, Bob Bruce does the 4pm-7pm on WMT 600 AM here in CR. Flame thrower of a station just like 1040 WHO. I would bet you could get it in Omaha some of the time. Does some hawk stuff with local reporters. 25 minute segments or so 2-3 times a week. He's on vacation this week.

I enjoy Bob. Sounds like just a regular beer-drinkin guy who can be quite funny @ times.

Just heard this week that in Omaha this year the Hawks will be broadcast on Big Sports 590. Very good news.

That's FANTASTIC news! Where did you hear it?

You might want to post a thread just about that. There were a lot of hawk fans in Omaha/Council Bluffs that were out of luck last year. Glad to hear that it's not on the Spanish station again!
