Deace's prediction for Iowa?

So Deace has us going 10-2 and losing to Arizona. Did anybody else hear what other team he has us losing to?

I think 10-2 sounds pretty realistic. Any worse than that and the season will be a disappointment IMO.

This is the kind of thing that has me worried this year. Almost every Hawkeye fan says this year will be a disappointment if we go worse than 10-2. Since when is a 9-3 season a bad season for Iowa?

We have to replace 3 starters on the O-line people. That is huge. Our O-line wasn't very good last year with the studs that we had.

If Bulaga and Spievey would have came back then I could have seen 10-2 at worse.

Now, I definitely think it is a possibility that we could go 10-2. I am not going to say that a 9-3 season is a disappointing season.

Is this what they talked about today? It's a little strange that for two Monday's in a row there is/was no podcast.

From what I've heard in the past, I think he has us losing to Michigan. Either that or Wisconsin at home. But, I'm pretty sure it's Michigan.

BTW-10-2 would probably get us into another BCS game if we only lose 1 conference game. I'd take it right now.

I would take 10-2 but I would be disappointed with 9-3, just for the simple fact that Iowa was 11-2 last year and this year they return 8 on def and 6/7 on offense not to mention a SR QB(besides his decision making sometimes) who wins.

losing to only Mich or Wisc would put us in the Rose Bowl...unless Mich or Wisc run the table in conference.

If I could sign up right this minute for a 10-2 regular season, I would do it.

Injuries, offensive line questions and Stanzi's light and dark routine are keeping me cautiously optimistic this season.

It isn't Michigan, because Jon has Iowa losing that game but I heard Deace say this morning that he didn't have Iowa losing to Michigan.

With Deace's predictions 10-2 would put Iowa in the Rose Bowl because Iowa and Ohio St would tie with 7-1 conference records and the tie breaker is head to head which Iowa would own even though Iowa lost a nonconference game and Ohio St didn't.

I would sign up for 10-2 and a trip to the Rose Bowl right now.

Deace also has OSU in the Sugar Bowl vs. Alabama.

I have Iowa losing at Arizona and at home to Michigan State in an upset. I believe the last three years this game has come down to the last possession, hasn't it?

Deace,

I usually agree with your picks, but picking Michigan State to beat Iowa is crazy. Do you want to know the last time Michigan State beat Iowa in Kinnick? 1989. 21 years ago. Aren't you always the one saying that you never pick against a streak?

It didn't help that at any one time, guys who were expected to be starters were injured. Calloway missed the first game do to suspension, Bulaga missed three or four weeks due to the thyroid thing, Vandervelde didn't play until October. Dace broke his leg at MSU. I can think of two instances where the line was healthy last year - at Wisconsin, and the bowl game.

Iowa put what was basically a patchwork o-line out there every week, along with two freshman running backs, and still managed to be effective enough to pave the way for an 11 win season. If this years group can stay healthy...you never know.

I wouldn't throw it out the window. you know when the last time, before last season, Iowa won in East Lansing?

also I believe it has been said many times that He'd rather be right so if he feels strongly about it he'll give up the streek. like last year. do you know how many streeks Iowa broke last year?

Iowa won in East Lansing in 1995. How many streaks did Iowa break last year? We beat ISU for the 1st time Ames in 6 years if you want to call that a streak.

Michigan State will be fired up for this game.We tore their hearts out last year on the last play of the game. They will be up for this game and it's going to be a knock down drag out.I just hope we come out on top and healthy.Last year we loss A-Rob and Sandeman in that game.I think there was other injuries as well? Anyway, losing that game wouldn't be an upset IMO.

That was one of the hardest hitting games I've seen in a long time. Iowa/MSU has turned into the quite the contest.
