DC Hire Strike One

+1

By far & away the most intelligent piece you've ever written on this board.

No, I called Coker not graduating from Iowa on December 31, 2010.

I am also on the record that if we win 16 or 17 in a row in basketball, we will win a national title.

I also pointed out that Alford never lost to Nebraska at home.

I'm not sure Iowa doesn't try to contain all the time? I'm also not sure AC dropped into passing lanes more than 2-3 times a game in 2010? Some of that I believe was he just dropped back, not being able to fight off the double team. I don't believe dropping back into lanes was ever part of our game plan though.

Sometimes when you're at the games, you see some things better than on tv, but you don't have the benefit of replays of every snap either.

I would say AC, understandably, was less aggressive in 2010. The example being the Wisc game, where he got chop blocked several times, once very obviously. I'm not sure I blame him, he was being doubled a lot, and chop blocks blow out knees.

you've had a couple others similar to above referenced that were truly insightful.

you are a true gem! The good stuff like above kinda surprises with all the other stuff you put out there. just enuff to keep the hok fans that seem to congregate here at bay...

If you can find a full game from 2010, (the NW game would be a good place to start) I would say that AC didn't rush the passer at least close to half the plays if not more, not just him either but the entire DL.

Here is a pretty famous play from that year that shows what he did a TON during the year and way more than 2 or 3 times a game. Some Iowa fans for whatever reason didn't want to believe that even though it was pretty
clear by watching a few plays that getting to the QB wasn't part of the game plan on every play.

Half of this board predicted Coker wouldn't graduate. It wasn't because they're insightful, its because they are ********.

I'm not sure not rushing the qb, and dropping into passing lanes are the same thing.

Well I was wrong abut Aiken way back. KF would have liked to have him, but I don't think he expected to lure him away, was a token gesture. Now I am hearing that the DC position will be an internal promotion. There must be some method to the Captain's madness.

You mean Phil Parker? Most of us have known this from the beginning.

I will be totally fine with Hermann, Bradley or Phil Parker. LeVar Woods as a D line coach is a big upgrade over Coach K as far as I'm concerned.
I agree; Woods will be an improvement. I am just fine with Parker, but if he is announced, there are going to be a lot of deflated people around here.

Can you hear that sound.....
