Thanks for setting the morning matches and team scores for us.
I'm alittle behind this morning, still trying to get sleep back from watching the football game the other night.

I'm thinking that Brands made a real blunder not taking points from Clark as opposed to Kerr.

Can anybody explain to me how the team scoring works for this? DO you get more points for wins on the winners bracket than the losers? Probably a dumb question, but I don't know how the team scores are kept. Thanks!

Don't know the exact scoring details, but like any tournament you get more points the farther you advance in the tournament. A semi-final win is more than a quarter-final.

And yes, you get more points for advancing on the winner's side of the bracket as opposed to the consolation side. Big points are achieved by winning your semi final matches.

Thanks guys, that helps. Need a big day from our consolation guys today. Go Hawks!

Yep, I think we need Gambrall and MM to win this thing and Ramos, both Lofthouses and Ballweg to all place top 6 to have any shot at the team race. Ballweg and Ramos have big matches this round. Unfortunately for Luke Lofthouse, he will have to face #1 seed Thomusseit if he wins his first match of the day.

standard tournament scoring is:

1 pt advancement in championship
.5 pt advancment in consolation

2 pt fall, fft, dq
1.5 pt tech fall
1 pt major

then points for placement tend to go something similar to:

1 - 16
2 - 12
3 - 9
4 - 7
5 - 5
6 - 3
7 - 2
8 - 1

wrestling starts at noon ct

Hopefully Evans doesn't pull off an upset over Lofthouse and take out another point scorer.
Then Lofthouse needs to put his big boy singlet on and prove he's the starter for the national champion Hawkeyes. I know Brands wants to win Midlands, but I think he's more concerned with getting the most out of his wrestlers and preparing his young team for the rest of the season. If Brands was more concerned with winning Midlands he would've picked Clark as a point scorer. I think that's why he chose both Janssen and Kerr as point scorers, to put equal pressure on both of them (whereas Clark is coming off an injury). I can't see Kerr getting another chance after his Midlands performance.
