Darian "Super" Cooper

Remember him? A very good d-lineman who injured his knee 2 years ago, missed all of last year. But, I noticed him dressed and on the sideline the last week (I actually forgot about him and was surprised to see him in uniform again.) Obviously he hasn't played this year. Anyone know what his status is? Man, having him back on the d-line helping out would be huge!! The guy was a stud when he played.

He's toast! Cooper will never again play play football. Earlier in the season, KF said he was out for the season & a medical red shirt year was not even being considered. Cooper's knee must have been mush after the injury.

Really unfortunate. Was one of the most highly celebrated d-tackles to ever come to Iowa. His upside, he was considered a sure fire NFL player. It must be really hard on a man so young. God bless him.

Something about this whole scenario doesn't make sense. He could have had a total knee replacement and been back sooner.

Why? After surgery(s) and rehab maybe his knee joint is just not stable or strong enough for the massive contact and forces.

It probably isnt just one injury by the looks of things. Big guys with big bodies have a terrible time with knee and ankle and foot injuries.
