Dantonio has a rvelation

That Nick Saban idiot needs to get with the times and realize he needs to spread it out instead of focusing on running and defense. That is why Chip Kelly has a fistfull of rings, and why Notre Dame sux this year.

/any catch the sarcasm?

Nope didn't catch the sarcasm, please try again.

In my opinion, MSU has shown that you can successfully run the basic Iowa formula with modern twists. This year's MSU struggles are mostly due to the fact that they don't have any offensive talent outside of Bell. In the last couple years, with Cousins and their talented wideouts, they ran a similar base offense that Iowa runs, but added in trick plays, jet sweeps, WR screens and other "modern" tricks of the trade.

Iowa's problem is that we run a base offense with zero wrinkles and, this year, very little talent.

That's true, but Saban also gets first pick of the nation's top recruits. Just about any system will work if your players are good enough.

Torkus Maximus, please tell us all about Alabama football in the ten years or so before Nick Satan arrived in Tuscaloosa.

Saban is a great coach, IMO the best in the game. He's a great recruiter, and has benefitted from brand name value in the south. Alabama wasn't great when he got there, but his name was never going to take long to bring in good recruits. Then the success took care of the rest.

FWIW:

Saban won 58% of his games at MSU.
Dantonio has won 64%

I think GDGD tried to throw in some wrinkles, they just didn't work when no one can throw or catch. If GDGD had his way, we'd throw a WR screen every down.
