Damond Powell shot

That guy at the bar/party that nobody wants to talk to because he has the same conversation with the same tired/wore out talking points.

*yeah I know... Kurt's the one who's tired/wore out. Grumble grumble grumble*

I don't know what's more sad (or is it sadder). The fact that we can't talk about a young man who was shot in the face without it immediately going into a butt hurt diatribe about how KirFer is the worst; or the fact that there's plenty or people who stand up and say, welp that's just the way it is.

Shaking. My. Head.

First off, prayers to Damond for a speedy and complete recovery.

But I agree, Eda. Damond Powell gets shot in the face and some posters here can't seem to wish him a speedy and complete recovery... they simply HAVE to go on and on (and on and on and..... ) about what a bad coach we have. My God, people! The young man was shot! And you can't even wish him well. To me, that says volumes about you.

I think the Ferentz comments are simply a metaphor. Ferentz shot Powell's NFL chances in the face by never throwing him the ball, and now Powell has literally been shot in the face. The link is clear, folks.

Perspective...I guess not everyone's is the same. Prayers out to DP and his family. Talk about a scary day for them. Glad to hear that it's not life threatening. He always seemed like a tough dude. I'm hopeful he'll pull through and be just fine.

What is almost as disturbing in that story is the fact that they reference Powell as being an NFL football player with the Cardinals, and how our brilliant offensive masterminds saw fit to target him once per game when we had one of the worst receiving corps out there. What an utter waste of talent.

I think I speak for a great many on here when I say to you, "The wrong person got shot".

And I will leave it at that...

6 posts. It took only 6 posts to get this thread into a **** on the staff/KirFer thread. Had someone not need to come in and provide a link (and another admitting that link adding isn't their forte, it could've been quicker).

Wow.

In a separate note... I'm hoping for a quick recovery for DP.

and no surprise on who would take the thread in said direction. he must be a pleasure to be around.

FWIW Powell was far from being the first Iowa player with high-level skills to be underutilized. I remember the same thing being said incessantly about one Tim Dwight when uncle Hayden was on the sidelines.

Having said that I hope Damond has a quick and speedy recovery and gets on with his life, doing great things on and off the field.

correct. and don't get me started with Tavian Banks.....that was criminal.

I'm as anti-KF as it gets, and probably have been for longer than most of you... But this isn't the time to bring him up. Let's hope our former hawk 1) isn't associating with a bad crowd and diminishing his future 2) is ok. That's all I think needs to happen here.

The link is stupid.... that's clear. Ever heard the old saying there is a time and place for everything? This is neither the time nor the place for bashing the coach. You have a whole freaking forum to do that. Can't this just be about the player? No... because I'll tell you what it's about for these know-it-alls... it's about them and their need to look like they know something or are being clever. Sadly, they just look small and mean when they pollute a thread like this one with their garbage.

Like I said above it's the nature of the beast when you come and play on a sports message board. Sad but true!!

If people don't want this thread about Kirk bashing, they should do their part and not respond to it. If no one responded, there would be exactly one post in this thread not related to DP.

Hey Bob, unless you are British we here in America put our punctuation on the inside of the quote.

For an English major you aren't too bright.

And I will leave it at that...

Not applicable to this story or thread topic in any way. A former Hawkeye got freaking shot, and ^^^^^^ is your post. Man, I feel a little sorry for you.

If only there was another thread to expound on this new take on Kirk's misuse of talent.

Quick recovery to DP.

Kiss your NFL career goodby. They just don't learn or appreciate their opportunities. You know this was not an accident or random. "Gold" car and sitting in his driveway with "friends"- says it all.

You're obsessed in a very unhealthy way.

And not everyone puts punctuation on the inside of the quote.

But even if I was to be a garbageman, mechanic, shoe salesman or shark hunter, I know I'm not nearly the dim-bulb, pimpled, obsessed, stalking maggot you are.

So I've got THAT going for me. Which is nice!

Not everyone Bob? Everyone who was raised in the U.S. and took English in our schools and Universities and was paying attention does. Seems like a smart English major like yourself would know that?

Get real. You're nothing to me. I just enjoy pointing out how those, like yourself, who prop themselves up as smarter than others in an attempt to give more merit to their talking points usually turn out to be the dumbest people on these boards.

Figure out how to bold on that home laptop yet?

50 cent got shot in the face and he ended up with a little divot in his cheek and a monotone rapping/speaking style. In all seriousness, DP may have got rolled up on in Toledo, bleepin Ohio. That is like getting rolled upon in Des Moines. How did Toledo, Ohio become that dangerous?

I wish the best for DP, the odds were against him to make the Cards roster and this doesn't help, but maybe he is a unique talent that KF underutilized.:)

<Sigh>

You might want to read Strunk & White.

And no, I have not figured out how to BOLD on my laptop because it's Windows 8, which I hate, and I don't use Office or Word. And I don't see anything on this board that gives me the option to do that.

Again, though, you're obsessed. Get me out of your head. It's annoying (at best) for me, borderline psychotic for you.

I don't prop myself up as smarter than others. Show me a post, and I'll acknowledge.

I am confident, however, that I am no lower than second-dumbest on this board as long as you continue to post here.
