Dale Jones Granted 6th Year

So no scholarships left for 2017 and no I don't think Connor will walk on. Probably recruit for at least one more spot since at least one person will transfer out after this season

Fran is going to keep recruiting, and I bet the shift is to the guards now. Fran just offered that top 100 SG out of Georgia I think and he said he is gonna visit. He also just offered a '18 PG as well.

I'm definitely interested to see what Jones brings to the team. He sure didn't seem afraid to fire last year which I like but I also want to see him develop a more complete game and don't want him to just settle for long 3s early in the shot clock.

If he's gunna shoot 45%, he can shoot all the 3's he wants.

He's not gonna shoot 45% from three. Wishful thinking though!!

He might. He shot that high in the small sample size last year. I think he shot that high in PTL last year with a ridiculously bad shot selection. I'm pretty sure he shot close to that in Juco. If he can shoot over 40% with the kind of shot selection I've seen from him to this point, I'll take a 3 attempt from him every time down the floor.

I am happy to hear he is coming back for two years. It's difficult to really judge what impact he will have since we saw so little of him last season.

He did shoot 45% in junior college. And he shot well from 3 last season in the few games he played.

He is going to shoot more 3 point shots from now until the season starts, than any other player on the team. He'll be ready.

I'm envisioning a great outlet for Jok when he gets double teamed. Smother Jok, get smoked by Jones.

Hopefully, he will shoot at least 46%. He didn't seem shy or intimidated by the game situations last year. Physically the guy looks all grown up and ready to play.

I'll say it again, there's a decent chance he'll be starting by B1G play.

His starting is definitely possible. I liked his energy when he came in. Almost Baeresque. But I see him coming in off the bench for Baer or Uhl.

Dom is going to be given the starting job, IMHO. It's his to lose. But if he does lose it, Jones should be more than capable.

I'm kind of opposite of this. I don't think we get much from Jones coming off the surgery this year.

It will all come down to his ability to play defense. We know he can shoot but if he lost all lateral quickness there might not be many minutes for him. Hopefully rehab is going well and he can be a big player for us this year and next

This. The lateral quickness will be the key. He will be fine on offense. But defense is a different story. We will find out in a little over 4 months from now.

His rehab is going quite well. Dale said this week he has been cleared by the doctors for everything but contact. That means he can train hard, practice most of his game and have workouts with the coaches. Just no scrimmaging, nor pickup games. His offense will be normal by the opening tip. Defense? By the start of the season, My guess is that it is up to Dale and how comfortable he is with his knee. But it should be structurally sound by the start of the season. Especially if he is cleared to workout now, and has 4 months to go.

I just think mentally it is gonna be tough for him to totally trust his knees, and this is gonna hinder him this year. He will be just a year removed from the surgery in Dec. and I think many are expecting too much out of him this year.
