The article isn't anymore than what's been said hundreds of times before. The only difference is the guy responding that wants to keep Big lick for two more years regardless instead of one.
But the reporter didn't say anything that was false or wrong or exaggerated. Just spoke the truth, plain and simple did he not. He could have sugar coated everything. I suppose that would help the program. But it still won't hide the fact that Lickliter is still the worst coach in Iowa history and he has no one to blame but himself for that...no one. It is his system, his players, everything.
Oh I suppose we can still blame Alford for most of it and continue to make excuses for him. But it is his system or him that ran the players off, no one else. It is his recruiting and his players. It is his charisma and his whining and his excuses. He is the head coach...he is responsible for the program and what has happened to it...end of story, no one else.
If he doesn't like, he knows where the door is but he need not whine or complain about ANYTHING, including the fans because it is HIS product that has driven the fans away or that has not drawn the fans. If he doesn't like it then he needs to change it and he doesn't get forever to do it...he needs to do it quickly. Either way it is HIS responsibility. People can lay the blame wherever they want but in the end it lays right at Lickliter's feet and no one else...period.
Again, IF he doesn't like it or approve of the situation he knows where the door is and he can leave anytime he wants...
