D-rob going down completely changed this game

While he was playing concussed

And with a shoulder injury. I still think that was a huge part of their struggled the last half of last year. It seemed every Monday he was questionable for the next week but they had no other option.

Also, I don't think this team collapses like last year. For one, they have a bye next week which I think will help them put these two games by them. I really think they have great shots at everyone except Wisconsin left on their schedule. If they can somehow manage to go 4-4 in the conference that would be a huge step forward.

Forcier is CLEARLY the better passer. Not really a shocker statement at all there. I agree that it would not have been close at all if D-rob does not gte hurt. No way he rallies as much if he is forced to do it with his arm. Forcier is a guy that runs a passing spread offense, d-rob runs the running spread and when you are behind it is much better to be airing it out.

I think that Michigan will be fine, but I have to point out that I did not see post game speech D-rob smiling too much when Tate was out there. Forcier with a towel over his head or D-rob standing very quiet when the whole place was rocking could be a very bad sign if there is any sort of QB controversy. That is the type of thing that could destroy a locker room when one guy won't get behind the other.

I said the same think in my living room Jon. I don't think the "injury" was as big a factor in keeping D-Rob on the sideline as was the fact they were down 3 touches. No doubt that Tate was much better equiped to lead a come back through the air than D-Rob was.

Iowa used to really struggle offensively when it got off schedule, scUM with D-Rob under centers does so to a much larger degree.

I think the blown coverages and suspect plays in secondary is #1 on Ferentz mind when he talks about .... the mistakes you get to learn from without having to take a loss

The only thing that I find irritating is that Shaun Prater seems to be giving Michigan no credit in the passing game. He just remarked about how he had been "lazy" in coverage. The kid wasn't man enough to admit when someone else got the better of him. He better learn from his mistakes so that he doesn't repeat them.

What did you expect him to say? "i got dominated by the Michigan receivers?" I get what you're saying Homer, but there's no way he's going to exploit himself like that.

I think that this had more so the 2 week prep and gameplan for Drob. Forcier came in and had no pressure you could tell by some of his throws he was taking risks and making us pay.

That brings up a question of the fact that UM's center went out with injury too. Did he remain out of the game? Does that mean the center snap to Forcier was more rehearsed (#2 to #2) than say the #1 center snapping the ball to him, thus better continuity?

I really don't think that the QB change made that big of a difference as far as our defense was concerned. Prater and Hyde's job isn't really affected by that, and THEY were the ones that got beat. They have to stick to their coverages no matter who is at QB. On a side note about the cheers for Forcier: I highly doubt it creates a controversy. They were down, their best player got hurt. I personally saw that as more an effort to pick the team up than a desire to start Forcier in 2 weeks.
