D-rob going down completely changed this game

for the better for Michigan. Don't know if he could have come back or not but it was obviously a plus for them. Iowa D had to adjust on the fly and didn't do that great of a job of it. But you have to give credit to Forcier. I loved the announcers when D-rob went out when the crowd erupted stating the respect for D-rob, um no that was applause for Forcier replacing him. Anyway, great job from Stanzi and the O on the last drive. Hyde and Prater have some splain' to do in practice this week. Great win and I think Meechigan has a QB controversy.

Totally agree. If D-Rob stays in the game, Hawks win 42ish to 10ish..... And you are also right about the applause for Forcier coming in, not for D-Rob. Hilarious.
Those announcers should be politicians.

DRob going down definitely was a setback for the Hawks. They last two weeks they have done nothing but prepare for Denard and then we get a dose of Forcier. My only thought was wondering why the D coaching staff didn't pull the guys off to the side and give them some refreshers on last years game. We owned him last year yet this game he owned us and about put Michigan in the winners circle.

I know but like I said Forcier played great and hit his receivers. I forgot to mention I would also like to thank the Michigan kicker for kicking it out of bounds twice. What an idiot.

How did you get back from Ann Arbor so fast Eddy??

The only thing that I find irritating is that Shaun Prater seems to be giving Michigan no credit in the passing game. He just remarked about how he had been "lazy" in coverage. The kid wasn't man enough to admit when someone else got the better of him. He better learn from his mistakes so that he doesn't repeat them.

I'm sure the main play he was citing was the one where Forcier threw it high and the receiver came down with it within the 5. Prater had a great chance to disrupt the catch and failed to do so. If Prater comes though on that play Iowa wins easily and Forcier looks like a fool instead of a semi-hero like he does now.

Anyhow, I gotta say that I agree with the sentiment of the post here. I definitely think that Iowa wins by a larger margin had Denard remained in the game.

In our chat, when it happened, I said it might sound crazy but I would rather Denard be in the game

While I respect you Jon, I coudn't disagree more. We owned Tate last year. I believe I understand where you are coming from being that Iowa game-planned for D-Rob, but once Iowa finally adjusted the D to a pass D and went to zone, Tate was back to what happened at the Iowa game.

Granted, it's a different game situation, but the zone was soooo key given how they had been picking on Hyde. I may be off, but if I remember corectly, Forcier tried the Hyde side on the first pass and after he saw the change in coverage, he knew he had to go elsewhere.

That's the one and Hyde's blown coverage that resulted in a TD. Not surprised that they were able to move the ball throwing with Forcier, but don't give up the big plays. That is not Hawk-like.

I agreed. And it was weird, but it happened.

The thing of it is that Denard isn't that much better than Forcier overall, and is definitely not as good of a passer. And the position they were in required a passer. So it wasn't a bad trade-off for them.

This is exactly what happened last year. Forcier was ineffective, but once he left the game, and Dernard came in, suddenly our defense was finding it difficult to figure out a new QB.

However, more than anything else, it seemed they kept attacking Hyde, especially after he missed the coverage on that long pass TD.

Tate was hurt the last half of the year last year and it was always said he got hurt in that game but Michigan really had no other option than an injured Tate.

I also agree with the sentiment of this post. I don't think Denard could have done what Tate did. Denard'sgame right now is to score early and continue to pressure until the defense starts taking chances to get off the field and then he exploits them. That hasn't happened the last two weeks. They have messed up opportunities to go up by more than a score early and from there on the defense has been able to do their thing and not let him get loose. he is not ready for that yet. He will be one day, but this year is not the time. He will slaughter less than good defenses and struggle with the good ones. That's precisely what has happened this year.
