D.J. and Greg Stokes Talk About Walking On

very cool! It sounds as if DJ is still growing. Caff says he likes the way he moves now, after adding 6" the past 2 yrs, that's great. DJ must still be adjusting though.

I love this. DJ has a full year and a half to work out, hit the gym, learn the schemes and grow into himself. By the time 2012 rolls around we may have a contributor on the floor with 4 years of eligibility.

At worse we have a 6'8", legacy of an all time favorite, brother of a top womens recruit, and a Linn Mar grad, who seems to be a nice kid.

Next season, the Iowa basketball / football programs will have sons of Greg Stokes, Roy Marble, Mike Gatens, Marshall Cotton and John Derby (Football), and Daughter of James Moses wearing Iowa uniforms. I love it.

Great Article! Congrats to Greg and D.J.! It has to be quite a feeling having your son want to follow in your footsteps. Will this help with Paige? It can't hurt having a former teammate on the team already.

I really don't see how the Iowa BB team can lose next year with a team featuring Stokes and Payne! It's been a long time.:)

I'm out of the loop I guess, who is James Moses daughter?

This is a real feel-good story for Iowa bb fans. Congrats to Darius and the Stokes.
I know the harsh reality of playing in the #1 BB league in the country next year will be stark, but right now, I have to say that Fran has taken about as big of strides as possible in the 1st month in terms of changing the aura of Iowa bb from the chilly tone set by lick and SA,to a warm,family-like environment. Will it translate to wins and better fan support? Who knows?...but in terms of things he can control, I do not see that Fran has made any real mis-steps so far in connecting and rebuiliding fan enthusiasm. Now, granted, it would be a lot cooler if he he could have held onto Fuller and Larson,or pulled a superrecruit outta left field, but in terms of atmospherics around the program...Fran's the Man!
