Any chance we would go after the PSU or OSU temp head coaches as our D Coordinator next year (If Norm retires)? Any chance they would want the job??

Interested in thoughts on these guys or other guys any hawk fan would like to see and thinks we have a shot at.

Didn't know we had an opening.

I think if Norm retires KF promotes someone already of the staff. Just my opinion.

I kind of think this too. I hope if we do this we at least put a few new wrinkles in. I think we are way too predictable on D and we don't seem to be able to adjust when our D LINE isn't getting pressure with 4 because that is our only option it seems.

Anyone else see all the plays yesterday where a linebacker was covering a receiver and would just stop and let him go? I know they were playing zone but holy cow they were getting left WIDE open. I think that is our main problem for giving up 3rd and longs, it just looks to easy sometimes

It would take an act of congrees to get Norm out of there. We got what we got and I guess Ill lsten to all these sympathatic people and optimist say that Norm just doesnt have the players to run his scheme. Which still doesnt answer why our dbs give so much cushion. Next year with Cooper and Davis and all these guys that are coming back willbe interesting.

sorry i Norm leaves that will have no affect on ST coaching, as has been pointed Erb and Morgan are the offensive and defensive side of SP, as for promoting from within it will probable be Phil Parker
but as a fan i would prefer somebody outside the program, i just hope it is somebody that is allowed to be creative,
i would not mind the D-Cood from OSU if the whole staff is let go when the new coach takes over

I am amazed that people think Norm went through what he went through to come back for one season. He didn't. I think a more reasonable assumption would be he's going to go for another 5yrs barring any further health set-backs.

Once you are his age, with his ailments you don't ever recover. You learn to live with it. He will have to see how the season affects him.

he is having issues with his other foot, and Diabetes is nothing to mess with at his age, several members of my family had or have Diabetes including myself, my GrandFather lost both legs below the knee, my mother lost her eyesight, myself i am going thru Lazer surgery and having shots in my eyes to make sure i don't lose mine,
once your body starts to deteriorate because of Diabetes it doesn't take long before it takes it toll

Here is my pick - Bobby D. Make him the HC in waiting.

Any coach associated with PSU is toxic right now. Somebody really needs to convince Norm to retire, for health reasons.

Stoops is the fan favorite no doubt i like him for his connections in the SW and he is familiar with the Iowa fan base, but i see a personality conflict between him and Kirk, so it makes sense to get the D-Coor from OSU, Kirk and Tressel were alike in the keep it simple dept
