CyFan taking today's loss with grace and dignity

How long until Clowns decide it's high time to give Campbell the Pelini treatment? They certainly have decided it's time for "championship expectations"

There isn’t a luckier SOB alive that their used car salesman of an AD. He keeps lucking out by having one team not be mediocre while the rest are dumpster fires.

The only thing ISU ever did that worried me was Hoiberg, he had that program absolutely cooking. To let that guy get away even for the NBA should be fireable.

Reality posted by one of their less delusional posters:

This is also looking like last year was truly a fluke.

TCU win - started their backup QB and we barely won.

kState win - COVID issues and basically 4th string QB.

WV win - COVID issues

Texas win - Tom Herman special

Baylor win - down big at half and Baylor imploded in the second half -Baylor still had a chance to tie or take the lead with 50 seconds left.

Only a delusional fanbase could have "Championship expectations" when they've never won anything and never once been in the driver seat to win a championship. Last year was a lightning in a bottle season for the Clowns. This year is a crash back to reality and the falling from heaven is going to leave the fan base worse off then they've ever been. It's going to be fun watching them realize that reality they are still an 8-4 at best program and not the juggernaut they thought they were. A little taste of success can be a dangerous thing.

If Campbell doesn't leave after this season, he's a bigger fool than we thought for hanging around this long.

Maybe he'll stay around L-Ames another year to try and beat KF @ Kinnick. Chuckle.

They can still finish 2nd and reach the championship game, if they quit turning the ball over and giving up big plays on special teams. The Big 12 is not good.

I do believe now that the breaks they got last year are not happening this year. .They will finish 7-5 and play in a decent bowl (because of their fan base) but not a repeat of a New Year's 6 bowl.

A side note on the ISU-Baylor game, Dillon Doyle was Baylor's leading tackler with 9 tackles, 5 solo and 2 tfl.

This is why coaches shouldn't do what he is... You stay too long trying to cherry pick the exact next best job you want and you risk exactly this. Chizek may have been a bad coach but he wasn't an idiot. Leave when the irons hot and get that next big job whatever it is and get that guaranteed big check.

ISU is NOT a destination job. As noble as it is to try making it one for a recruiting cycle or so it's just not going to happen long term. I'd understand if he had ties to the program or from there or whatever but what he's doing makes little sense and now instead of being in the running for a USC type of job he's almost stuck at ISU.... So he's getting what he wished for. He does have time on his side however. Dude is really young yet. But that bloom comes off the rose fast. The next big thing turns into yesterdays news pretty damn fast nowadays
