Pretty much consensus of Cyclone fans is if weren't for refs out to get them, they'd be undefeated in their history of football. Every game they've ever lost is because of a ref, an injury, or bad luck. Never because they just plain sucked and got beat. Iowa fans know when a turd is a turd. Cyclone fans see a turd and call it a golden nugget.

A ton of people picking the clones to win this week. I am nervous, but the fact that the clones showed they aren't just a doormat to be stepped all over last week should give Iowa plenty of reason not to look past them. I keep thinking the offense has to look better. A good way to get healthy is to play against a horrible defense.
 
I'm a little worried based on what we saw this weekend, from both teams but I think we emphasize the running game this week in practice, we get some emotion going in Kinnick, and we get the win. Not as optimistic as I was before last weekend though
 
I'm going to assume that Kirk, having seen enough of this newfangled passing attack, will tell Davis that we are going to play smash mouth football against the Clones and we will keep the game close with us answering their quick strikes with our plodding, long yard drives. We keep the game tense until the very end and whoever has the ball last, wins.

The only "quick strike" we've had this year is the 2-play drive we had against NDSU, and that was only about 50 yards. I think our offense's big play ability pretty much went away when Bundrage went down.

We'll probably need several big play's to have a chance to win, either in the passing game, special teams, or TO. I'd be surprised if our offense can manage more than 14 points, unless we're set up nicely by TOs.

LOL wut?
 
For me, this game is now a tossup ... ISU played much better against KSU. As in previous years, ISU will be more motivated than Iowa ... and let's be honest, we have some serious issues on offense. And our kicking game WILL cost us at least 2 games this year. After the Ball State game ended I said to a friend would not be shocked if ISU comes into Kinnick and gets the win. I worry about our pass defense ... I worry about our lack of offensive power and lack of offensive identity. I would "guess" we will try to pound the ball this week against a suspect ISU run defense. That being said, our run blocking has not been tested and what we've seen thus far has not been impressive. We are 2-0 and any win is a win ... But the reality is we are not a good 2-0 team.
