cutbacks were there...

All second half. I don't remember one RB doing it even once. nebby sold out and crashed the edge the whole second half, no change in plays...

Coaching.

Eh that one I blame on TB talent. Iowa has none right now. MW can't make a cutback too slow.

Cutback lanes have been there for most of the season honestly. Never taken advantage of. How would you like to be Scherff right now?

Oline played great, actually both lines were great today.

Mn, you may be right about the rbs not seeing the cutback, but coaches should teach it, they don't appear to even look for it.

Or how about a counter after the defense crashes the edge over and over. They adjusted, we banged our hhead against the wall.

Patience and vision. That's what is needed to be successful in a zone blocking running scheme. Patience to let the OL set up the cutback lane and the vision to see it. Wadley appears to be the only back that has those qualities.

Did Wadley even get a carry?

Weisman is not built for the stretch play. Oh, he can go through a hole if it's there, he just can't find it or he's not quick enough to get there if he does see it. Not his fault, it's just his limitation. It was insane they kept trying to pound a round peg through a square hole all day with that play.

This is my biggest problem with the Kirk Ferentz era. It does not matter if it's Sam Brownlee or Shonn Greene starting the season opener. It's the exact same offense. The exact same plays. Dallas Clark or Ray Hamilton. Same plays. It's like the thought of adjusting your scheme to fit your talent is a foreign concept and if you just keep practicing the same thing, over and over again, it will work out eventually. Then after a bad loss when there was no way in heck the offensive game plan was going to work, KF blames it on lack of execution.
It's the biggest load of horse **** I've ever seen served up.
