When the Hawkeye wrestling facilities were getting remodeled, they had to train in the Field House for a season. My office is in that building, and I sometimes use the locker room to shower after I bike to work. So, I have showered with the Brandses.

My favorite story from that time was changing over by my locker and eavesdropping on a conversation taking place over on the other side, involving the Brandses. I hear this guy giving THEM advice on how they should be handling their business. I think to myself, "What jackass has the balls to tell the Brands how to coach wrestling?" On my way out, I glance over there to see who they were talking to: Dan Gable.
